I am left handed and it is extremely hard to find a selection of basses anywhere, there are a few on the sites that i have looked at but nothing much really. Does anyone have a suggestion for a site with a wide selection of left handed basses?

thanks

There are lots of sites which specialize in left handed instruments.

How much cash depends on how much you want to spend, and what quality of an instrument you want or need. Basses can range from $75 (used pawn shop junk) to $30 000 (custom Alembic)

Ibanez and Yamaha have a very limited selection of left handed basses.

I am a lefty and back when I first learned guitar I ran into the same problem. Since at the time I was 12 and had no job, I just bought a standard righty and learned that way. It makes more sense for me to be doing fret work with my left hand anyway.

Well, good luck on the bass hunt.
