Is there any bad hip-hop at all? I'm only asking because these threads tend to get filled up with every single artist there is, mainstream or underground, black or white, political or party-oriented, etc.
I mean, I can think of plenty of rappers I don't like, but apparently Alt/Indie as a whole cannot.
I don't like anybody ArrestThisMan posted. I also dislike Chingy, that "meet me in the mall" guy, Atmosphere to an extent, Kanye West, and all kinds of other bad hip-hop.
Dayum.
What about Cannibal Ox?

Cannibal Ox?
I know this doesn't involve me but I'll put my 2 cents in. I thought the beats were impressive but the rapping was a little slow for most of the beats.
Busdriver. You need Busdriver.

Oh yeah, and I'll third the Binary Star mentions. Masters of the Universe is a great album.
nah
I don't really get into all that underground/Def Jux/whatever stuff. Not sure why, it just doesn't appeal to me.
Cage is cool though.
I definantly understand. It didnt really make an impression on me until rescent months.

Just go out and buy Illmatic by Nas. De La Soul is good too, check them out. Also, I dont think anyone has mentioned 13 & God yet, which is a combination of Notwist and cLOUDEAD, they actually work well together. Also, another brilliant mc you should check out is Immortal Technique. Definetly. Get Dance With The Devil, it is one of the most powerfull songs that I have EVER heard.

We abide by the Pitchfork principle:
All hip-hop is great, for some reason.

I was thinking more along the lines of independent or non-mainstream hip hop. Is it that difficult?
