Hey guys, in short my electro acoustic has broken (electronics problems) and since it was cheap theres not much point in having it fixed. Anyways i'm in the market for a new one, got a budget of about 300 max, can someone recommend me a decent electro acoustic?
I'll be using it mainly for one or two songs live and general home use.
Cheers,
Ross

Unless you have some electronics background probably not worth trying to fix it yourself. The Ibanez acoustic/electrics are a good deal for the price. For that price range you might look for a used Ovation.

I saw a $300 Celebrity Ovation at my local shop yesterday, it actually played very well, and It wasnt used.

I just got an Ovation Celebrity the other day for $360. I love it, it sounds great and plays pretty much just like an electric. As for Fenders, I've never played an electro-acoustic, but I do have just an acoustic. It's one of the lower end models (DG-7, I think), I don't like it much. I haven't especially liked any of the other Fender acoustics I've played either, which is weird since I'm a bit of a Fender fanboy. So I'd say stay away from those. And if you can find a decent Ovation within your price range, give it a try, they make good stuff.

There are like three at my local shop also. I'm going to try one out on Thursday...If I like it, I might buy it on the spot. I'll tell you how it plays. It looks really sexy if you haven't seen one yet.

I tried a fender 12-string once. Friggin sturdy guitar. It was pretty heavey and was nice too.

Thats all I ahve to add to this thread.

123 Fender acoustics disappoint

really have not been impressed by Takamine either, the Ibanez are really nice, check them out, they have several electo acoustic series.

Have not played the Takimines Jasamines, I have been so disappointed with the brand I really stay away from them now, so they may have done something right and I missed it.

Yeah I don't know why Fender even makes acoustics.

The only Tak I've played a lot is my sister's EG540C. It's ok, not great. Ibanez AEF line eats it for lunch. But Ovations are hard to beat for the price.
