Anathallo, anyone?

Anathallo are sort of like a mix of Sufjan Stevens and elements of post-rock. Stunning, beautiful stuff. Anyone else like them?

I don't see enough similiarity between Anathallo and Sufjan to say they're a ripoff, especially if you listen to anathallo's stuff before their last cd (the ep Holiday at the Sea is my fave). I think they're a fantastic band.

They are really good, I almost got to see them live, they were playing a show around here and a friend of mine's band was playing with them. Arrgh, it would have been a great show. Stupid wrestling tournaments....

I saw them at lollapalooza, they were great. You should try to catch them the next time they come around.

Anathallo is to Sufjan Stevens what Band Of Horses is to My Morning Jacket.

I can see where the Sufjan comparisons are coming from, but I really feel they have a different sound than him.

I love this band. Floating World is one of my favourite albums this year, and like above, I can see why people think it, but they have an overall very different sound to Sufjan. I'm getting a bit sick of everything being compared to him.

Floating World can get a little bit tedious, but I otherwise really like the album. I saw them play with The Format and they put on an awesome show. Lots of energy, balloon tossing, dancing, and audience participation. If you're going to make the Sufjan comparisons, then their live show is like Sufjan meets the Polyphonic Spree.
