I'm going to Pukkelpop this year, but only one day because of those bloody resits, damn them to hell.

Anyways, Pukkelpop has the nasty habit of putting all the good bands on at the same time. Like the day I'm going, DJ Shadow, Beck and Mastodon all play at the exact same time, jolly good fun.

So, anyway, I don't really know all the groups that are listed for the rest of the day, I'm basically going for Radiohead and one of the three listed above, but is there anyone who I should see?

http://www.pukkelpop.be/

I'm going Thursday, 17th.

Thanks.

Regina Spektor, Jose Gonzalez and maybe The Delays. Regina is the only one out of the three that I would actually go out of my way to see though. I don't some of the bands too well either.

I'd be so stuck between Beck/Shadow and Mastodon. I'd probably see Beck, but be so pissed at missing Mastodon.

I think I'll probably go for DJ Shadow.

Last year they had Pixies and Bad Religion playing at the same time, it's so annoying.

I'll tell the lucky bastards who are going for the full festival, though. :upset:

oh I missed that part

at least you get to see Radiohead. Watch Planes Mistaken For Stars too, they're ok, but then I don't know what you're going to do for the rest of the day.

When I'm at a festival and there isn't really anyone interesting playing, I just walk around with the rest of da gang and drink beer or so. And sometimes you'll encounter a band who turn out to be interesting after all. Oh and drink more beer, probably.

Make sure you see Mew on Thursday.

Okay. Mew mew mew.

I'd hit The Knife. Apparently they use a lot of visual effects; lights, shadows etc, and describe their concerts as shows where the visual impression is as importnant as the one of the music. Should be cool.

I think I'll probably go for DJ Shadow.
Having seen Shadow at a festival a few weeks ago, I would recommend you go see Beck instead.

Oh and you should go see Gomez, The Veils and My Morning Jacket. And Beck. And Radiohead, like you said.

God.

I never get to go to any festivals, nevermind in BELGIUM.

What's that supposed to mean?

We're a great festival country, you know, all the big bands come here.

Thanks for the recommendations, people, seems like I'll have stuff to do after all. :)

Whoa! Chill.

What I meant was that Belgium is very far away.

And I don't even get to go to Radiohead in New York. Or any festivals anywhere.

Belgium isn't very far away for someone who lives in Belgium.

Gah.

But I was saying it from the point of view of LIVING IN MANHATTAN.

I would suggest Mew and the Magic Numbers. And maybe Babyshambles/the Knife, both would be fun. My Morning Jacket are meant to be good live but I'm not such a fan of their stuff so I dunno.

Edit: My god there would be no way for me to choose between Belle and Sebastian and Broken Social Scene.

Haha, no worries, mate. It just sounded weird. Because it's indeed not too far away, since I live in Belgium and all.

That's the advantage of a small country, though, big bands will book your country for a gig, but since nothing is really that far away, you can see anyone you like. :)
