I just have this particular againstness on 22 Acacia Avenue and Gangland from that album.

Other than those, it entertains me greatly.

I still can't get over the 80ness of SSoASS. :(

Well, AMOLAD has been leaked already.

I've just been listening to it briefly, my best description so far is X-Factor under the disguise of SSOASS. You can tell they've tried to go into a different direction. Fore The Greater Good of God reaks of The Unbeliever from X-factor. I'll have a better listen in the morrow, but I have mixed feelings atm.

BTW, if I like it, I'll buy it, if not I'll never talk about this album again and Maiden will only have 13 Albums in my eyes :P

After listening to AMOLAD for the last two hours I think I can safely say that this is the best album Maiden has recorded since SSOASS. It's soooo much better than Dance of Death it's not even funny. BNW comes close, but it lacks the sheer melodic joy that AMOLAD has. The first three songs are hit-and-miss, I'll admit (hit: "Thousand Suns," miss: "These Colours Don't Run"). But as soon as "The Pilgrim" starts, it's pure gold, baby. And frankly the production is the best of any Maiden album ever.

Honestly I felt like I kinda forced myself to like Dance of Death. I had huge expectations for it, and I almost refused to believe that it wasn't the album I wanted it to be. I don't think I'm going to have that problem with this one.

Get excited, guys. It's REALLY good.

I wouldn't call it the greatest album of all time, it's too Dance of Deathy for me and it feels like they're trying to work into the mainstream a bit. There are some beautiful moments, like the harmony in the longest day (People who like the Duellist, you'll love this song).

The album is overall good, but it doesn't 'feel' right, the mixing is amazing, you can hear everything, there's a few bits of overdubbing, bruce's voice works well, they're at top form, but something feels wrong...

I know. The first 3 tracks were ace, and 4 has been just as good if not better.

Track 2's chorus uses the exact same progression as the chorus of The Wicker Man and Blood Brothers. They're getting a nice bang-for-their-buck on that riff.

Last tour was really disappointing for them

It's not just that, bruce is saying how they wont sell in America. That really shows that their not just doing it for their fans, they obviously care a bit more about how many tickets they will sell and how much money their getting.
Plus if were talking about them by being egged at ozzest, the whole american crowd stood up for them, it wasnt the USA's fault. It was a ENGLISH ladys fault.

Im just a bit pissed that it seems that they really care more about ticket sales then their loyal American fans who spend way too much for their cds =/

Anyone else think these songs are gonna kill live? The Longest Day... Greater Good of God... Benjamin Breeg... The Legacy... *drool*

And Bruce isn't ****ting on American fans. He's ****ting on the American fans who haven't bought an album since 1988, have stopped going to shows, and just want to hear Run to the Hills and Number of the Beast so they can pretend to be 18 again. Those people aren't real fans, and Bruce is totally right. I've seen Maiden 3 times, and every time Bruce's attitude seems to be "you guys are great for coming out, and **** the people who've abandoned us." Makes sense to me.

I think it's good that a band changes slighty, especially those that have run for some that's almost 30 years.

Nonetheless, and despite the little changes through time, Maiden is one of the bands that hasn't really whored itself, in terms of "changing for the mainstream sakes".

Say, like Kiss with that Disco song.

Here in Atlantic Canada, I know that if Maiden did a concert in Halifax, Nova Scotia, they could sell out no problem. From what I've seen America isn't that great for Maiden, and they are right, Iowa Arena's won't get packed for Maiden..(Or anyone) but there are some places that will.
Thats what im talking about. If maiden truely cared about their fans they way they say they do, they wouldnt care if they could sell out iowas arena. They would care about the fans who came to see them. This shows how much they care about their money. Which really makes me sad, becasue i have defended maiden way too many times saying how they really do care about their fans.

Wow, you wanna compare e-penises? I flew to New York from Chicago ($400 round-trip) to see them in 2003. I paid double for tickets on eBay so I'd get good seats at Ozzfest last year. I'll be taking a $30 bus to see them this fall. And you know what? It was worth every penny. Stop whining.

Do you think that if Dance of Death had sold more than 300,000 copies they wouldn't be touring more? There's a very small market for Iron Maiden in America these days. Sad but true. Don't blame the band, blame the people who stopped listening to their music.

These are the type of Maiden fans that can go piss up a rope, as far as I'm concerned. Maiden did a huge US tour for the Early days, to try to make an effort for new audiences, and look where it got them. 90% of US "metal" fans don't give a crap about Maiden, they just want to hear ****ing faggy Lamb of God and some gay metalcore act they can hit their wives and drink pissy beer to.

Here Lies A Man Of Whom Little Is Known.. says:

Dustyn You'll Be A Lover In My Bed. And A Gun To My Head.. says:
?
Here Lies A Man Of Whom Little Is Known.. says:
It's amazing
Here Lies A Man Of Whom Little Is Known.. says:
It's very progressive, but it's at the same time very Maiden
Here Lies A Man Of Whom Little Is Known.. says:
And some of the lyrics are unbelievable
Here Lies A Man Of Whom Little Is Known.. says:
The guitar parts are better than anything Maiden's ever done
Here Lies A Man Of Whom Little Is Known.. says:
And Nicko's drumming is still top notch, very good
Here Lies A Man Of Whom Little Is Known.. says:
Bruce's voice is solid as hell too
Here Lies A Man Of Whom Little Is Known.. says:

Synchestra is good, but I find it quite difficult to listen to. AMOLAD definitely takes the top spot for now, but I also hope that Amputechture will give it a run for it's money.

For sure.

I love every track, I love the guitars, I love the drums, I love the bass, I love Bruce's voice and I just love it all. The lyrics too. It's..It's so insane. It's without a doubt my favorite Maiden album. Better than Piece Of Mind..

I'm listening to this album for the 5th time already and it's so damn good, I think it's becoming my favorite Maiden album. The best songs for me are The Legacy, Brighter than A Thousand Suns , For the Greater Good of God and The Pilgrim.

Yep. Me and a friend are making a road trip out of it. I'm taking a half day off work that day so we're heading over there...we'll probably get over there around 3-4 and start hanging around and partying.

Do you know the floor seating arrangements? Our tickets have a floor section, row and seat number but it also says General Admission Floor. General admission would make more sense, but I dunno.

Me and my best friend for the Montreal show were planning to get ALL the Maiden albums and listen to 'em from start to finish in order on the way there :) It would have been plenty sweet, but we missed out on tickets :(

We've decided that there's no way we're not going to The Early Days Pt. II tour though.

Wow I love The Legacy.

Seriously..It's amazing.

"Some strange yellow gas
Has played with their minds
Has reddened their eyes
Removed all the lies"

"You had us all strung out with
promises of peace
But all along you cover plan was to deceive
Can it put to rights now only time will tell
Your prophecies will send us all to hell as well"

"Why can't we treat our fellow men
With more respect and a shake of their hands
But anger and loathing is rife
The death on all sides is
becoming a way of life"

Those lines are so awesome. They catch me right away.

So I never really listen to Maiden, I only own one album (Piece of Mind) which I dig upon occasion, but I downloaded the new album out of curiosity. I have to say it's been a really excellent listen, it's good that these guys can still make music of this calibre after so long in the business.
