It's not so much the two bands hating each other, but two people affiliated with each of them (Bruce Dickinson and Sharon Osbourne). Still, as long as she's running Ozzfest there's not gonna be a spot for Maiden on it anymore :(

Iron Maiden would dissagree with you on that one, from what I heard there was quite abit of ruckus caused by Sharon due to Maiden giving Ozzy some well deserved critisism IMO

Blaze and Paul are both the best at the songs they do and they fit the songs to their ability, i doubt the badn would have written a song in Virtual XI that would be suited to Paul or Bruce's voice and vice versa. Bruce does a pretty good job of singing Paul's and Blaze's songs though but he is probably more felxible than either of them.

i have 8.45gb of music or so. i'm annoyed about CoD though, i'm gonna have to go back to playing it on the other computer, which is gonna annoy the rest of the family, as generally i hardly ever use the other computer. it's that or do a Dell System Restore, which puts it back to how it was when i got it, removing EVERYTHING i've ever put on it, and i don't really fancy doing that again.

I never did like that song to much, either. The rest of the album is awesome, though.

Rock in Rio just keeps getting better, I'm on the Trooper now.

Its weird, though. I'd seen the videos for the Trooper, Hallowed, and Fear of the Dark before from Limewire, but they were different. There were no shots of Nicko, and Bruce's voice sounded aweful on the Trooper. Its weird.

Stop it, you'll make me blush.

Just came back from work, I really need to listen to Tears of a Dragon really loud, but it's 5:10am and everyone's already complaining about two things;

1) Loudness of Music
2) The Constant Maiden all the time, I mean I have a subwoofer now, the earth trembles by the hand of Steve and the mighty foot of Nicko everytime a song comes on.

Has anyone been listening to drumming on DOTR? I was listening the other day and noticed that Nicko's got a heck of a lot faster with his foot, he does the double pedal thing with a single pedal a lot and I mean a lot!

Die with your boots on is a 'kin ace song, it's my war tune, it seems to get me ready for trouble when I know it's coming. It gets the adrenaline going and prepares me for Jihad!

That said, he's a pro-drummer.

I was talking to my music teacher about it, and he said he'll probably spend at least an hour per day just practicing that. As long as he keeps his leg and ankle in good shape (and that won't start to go until he's into his 80's, provided he looks after it) he can probably play really fast with little effort.

When I watched him at Drummer Live, there was a camera on his right foot showing a close up on one of the screens, and he was doing amazing double, triple and quadruple hits on the bass drum and he barely moved his foot.

Chris (who's the drummer in my band - sitting next to me) was practically having an orgasm.

Rob Halford has a way better range than Bruce Dickinson. He has his low range, mid range (which is totally unique, no other singer even comes close), and his all out scream, like Ressurection off his solo album with the same name. I didn't really like Bruce's low growls a lá NPFTD and FotD albums. They don't suit his voice IMO.

That said, I love what he does with the deep voice on FotD (song) at RiR, and on the start of HBTN.

They will? Awesome, are they working on a new album atm?
i believe it should be ready and released by the summer, at least that was the news posted on maidenfans.com last year. then hopefully a tour starting in the Autumn.

the album's meant to be a concept along the lines of 7th son of the 7th son, which, incidentally, i've been listening to a fair bit lately. i love Only the good die young, especially the bass solo after the first guitar solo. well, more like a really cool independent bassline.

They do, they try and keep it personal aswell. As when I saw them live, Steve and Bruce try and make eye contact with everyone near the pit. There are bands who have fancier stage shows, but the general atmosphere is amazing.

I personally see no point in releasing live cds.
The point of live shows is to see your heros on stage in person, and usually the quality is terrible. Of course they always throw in some extras and altered solos but meh.
Live dvds I somewhat understand though... just because you actually see them putting on the show.

rippa32
01-21-2006, 05:10 AM
Well usually I love Live CD's cos the pace is generally a bit faster and theres more energy as well as the mentioned extras. I was just curious as to how maiden do live musically.

the_uber_penguin
01-21-2006, 07:41 AM
They're very good. They play tightly with lots of energy and fun around it. They like to have the crowd noise fairly prominent as well, which is cool.

Only downside to the live CD's is that Bruce tends to sing better on the studio recordings, IMO.

ha, they havent been to australia since the FOTD tour. Dont give up hope though.

In March, Iron Maiden will start recording the new studio album.
In May, Bruce will release his double solo DVD.
During the summer, there's a possibility of festival dates before the release of the album.
October might be the month for the release of the new studio album and the start of the album tour.
In 2007, Iron Maiden may return to Brazil and South America

ooooo, tough choice there. When i first got into maiden i bought iron maiden first, primarily becasue it had phantom of the opera on it. Both cds are great, but if your just getting into dianno stuff i would go with S/T(iron maiden). Personnaly(sp?) it was easier to get into.

But seriously, if you have enough money, buy em both. They are both 10/10 albums for me, also they both happen to be two of my favorite albums.
