its bad news for everyone!
well, i borrowed DOTR from Ollie today, good album although IMO Bruce sounded weak on Can i play with madness. the stuff off DoD is awesome live though.
although WMP had the tracklist wrong for Disc 2, i had to search for the UK version.

21/11/2005CLIVE BURR CHARITY AUCTION ON EBAY AND HARD ROCK CAFE EVENT
Iron Maiden have arranged with Ebay to auction some specially signed items to raise money towards the Clive Burr MS Fund.
This follows their special one night performance in September at the Hammersmith Apollo which raised over £120,000.
The Fund was set up in 2002 when the band discovered that their ex-band mate, drummer Clive Burr suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. The band then performed three sell out nights at the Brixton Academy with all proceeds being used to help Clive and other MS sufferers with their treatment and care and improve the quality of their life. The fund has helped with specialist equipment, transport and essential living expenses.
Many fans have also performed their own fund raising activities with special gigs of their own and numerous other contributions via the website and fan club.
The items included in the auction are a Fender Stratocaster donated and used by guitarist Dave Murray, tour programmes and rare special event shirts from the night at Hammersmith all signed by the band and Clive Burr himself.
The auction starts on 8.00pm (GMT) November 24th and runs for ten days so get those bids in.
The winning bidders on each auction will be contacted to arrange delivery once the auction has ended.
Payment can be made via Paypal or by cheque or International Money Orders made payable in Pound Sterling to the 'Clive Burr MS Trust' although no items will be dispatched until the cheques have been cleared. Details will be made clear on each auction page.
Happy Bidding.
Menawhile on Tuesday 29th November there is a special VIP event being held at the London Hard Rock Cafe.
Clive Burrs drum kit will be presented to the Cafe to be added to their collection of memorabilia. Clive will be there to recieve a cheque together with many other Rock N Roll luminaries both in terms of fellow players and the media.
The event is to celebrate the release of a Hard Rock DVD charting the history of much of the memorabilia that they are famous for in each of their cafe's around the world.
The event was organised by Sam Hill who some will know as the organiser of the special 'Cliveaid' Days at The Ruskin Arms to help raise further money for Clive's Trust.
The newly refurbished vault at the London Hard Rock Cafe has numerous treasures including guitars from Hendrix and John Lennon handwritten lyrics.

Alright, time for the next album. Iron Maiden's sophmore release, 'Killers' welcomed new guitarist Adrain Smith. 'Killers' ended up being the last album that would feature Paul Di'Anno. But nevertheless, his 20 song career with Maiden was magnificant. I think this is a great album that many people should know about. Great cover art as well. Anyway, favorite songs:
1. Killers
2. Wrathchild
3. Murders in the Rure Morgue
4. Genghis Kahn

1. Hallowed Be Thy Name
2. Number of the Beast
3. The Prisoner
4. 22 Acacia Avenue

Moving on now. As Iron Maiden eliminated Clive Burr, 'Piece of Mind' was set to be the first album to have the "classic" Maiden lineup. And a classic it was. I think this is a good album. Although it's not as good as the Di'Anno years or 'Number of the Beast,' 'Piece of Mind' deserves a solid 4/5. Here are my favorite songs:
1. The Trooper
2. Flight of the Icarus

4. Where Eagles Dare
5. Revelations

1. To Tame a Land
2. The Trooper
3. Flight of Icarus
4. Revelations
5. Die With Your Boots On
The second guitar solo of TTAL (probably Adrian) is just so spine-tingling, especially when it ends on that really high note. Then the guitars play a double harmony while the bass chugs away at a really tough line to fret (for me anyway :().

Haha, i was just looking at that a minute ago, im probably going to get "massive noise injection","downfall of the goodguys", or "live fast die fast. " Ill actually jst prbably get all of wolfsbane cds. of course after my order of all blaze's cds comes in :naughty:
its a shame wolfsbane never made it big, they really had something going on.
Any one else think blaze soud re-unite with wolfsbane and make a new album?

Time for a fan favorite...'Powerslave.' Iron Maiden were absolutely on a roll with this album. Everything just seemed perfect with this album. And it has everything a metal fan should want. It has an instrumental, a 10+ minute epic, and a couple of radio hit singles. In conclusion, I think this is a very complete album that every Maiden fan should own. My list:
1. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
2. Powerslave
3. Aces High
4. Flash of the Blade
5. Losfer Words
Please post your top 5................................................:

This is the last one I'll be able to do, as I don't own any more Maiden albums after the first five :(
1. Powerslave
2. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
3. Aces High
4. 2 Minutes to Midnight
5. Losfer Words
(wow a top 5 list only excludes three songs from the whole album! I left out the middle ones because that's where I think the album drags, even though they're pretty good in their own right).

wow i just listened to the DT boot, it amazing how they can ruin a song as good as hallowed be thy name. That boot made me sad because its so bad. Ugh the vocals are just.........
1. Rime Of The Ancient Mariner (also my favourite song ever)
2. Powerslave
3. Losfer Words
4. Aces High
5. The Duellists
on a completely different topic, DT's version of Gangland is hilarious

Dream theater completely butchered children of the dammned in my oppinion
anyway, back on topic. Today i brought out my dusty powerslave cd and poped it into my computer. I had totally forgot that it was enhanced. So i went to the video section and watched the aces high music video. What a video! Seriously, you'll really wished you had gone to one of their concerts durring this period. The video just made me go "wow". Also in the video steve harris doesnt use his usual bass?
anwya, top 5
1. Rime of the ancient mariner
2. Flash of the blade (shame, they've never played it live)
3. Powerslave
4. Aces high
5. all the other tracks go here ( i cant decide )
Dream theater completely butchered children of the dammned in my oppinion
They butchered the whole album in my opinion

I now have Iron Maiden, Killers, The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Live After Death, Somewhere In Time, Early Days DVD, and Rock In Rio. Are there any more albums/dvd's worth buying? Is the Raising Hell DVD any good?
By the way, I thought Dream Theater's cover of NOTB(the album) is quite good so far, but I'm only up to 22 Acacia Avenue.

RON MAIDEN have now confirmed the release date of their much anticipated DVD release DEATH ON THE ROAD for 6th February 2006 through EMI Records. This will initially be available as a limited edition special digipack.
The DVD package contains the full performance of their ‘Dance of Death Tour’ in December 2003. Filmed at the Westenfalenhalle Arena, Dortmund the show has been personally edited by founder band member Steve Harris, to fully capture the magnificent stage production and to cut right to the heart and the electricity of the bands’ performance. Over a four month period Steve made thousands of edits, thus ensuring he was personally happy with every single shot included!
Says Steve Harris, 'We realise that the fans have been made to wait a little longer than planned for the DVD to come out but as they know - we won't settle for anything but the best and the extra time and effort spent in the final production of this DVD should be apparent. I can safely say that when people see songs like 'Paschendale' and 'Dance Of Death' their jaws will hit the floor as mine did when I saw the final product on my TV at home. With visuals like this and the show played in 5.1 on a decent system it's just like being in the front rows of the show.'
To ensure top quality and to avoid any compromise in reproducing the very best possible sound and picture quality, the band have taken the unprecedented step of making the full concert available on two separate discs – one with full traditional stereo soundtrack and the other with specially mixed 5.1 sound by Kevin 'Caveman' Shirley – which along with the special features disc makes three discs in all.
Says Harris, 'I felt it important that this was done as we didn't want to be restricted. By having two seperate discs I was happy in knowing that neither picture nor sound quality would be compromised in any way. We are aware that many fans don't yet have access to 5.1 sound and still use stereo but if you put both sound beds on one disc with the concert a fair amount of visual quality can be lost due to the massive amount of information that needs storing. As this was quite a dark and theatrical show we refused to allow this to happen! However, so our fans aren't paying extra for a disc they may never use, we have arranged with EMI that the pricing will be the same as ‘Rock in Rio’ which was a 2 disc package. This way everyone gets the best possible quality show visually with the sound fully compatible for their system at no extra cost at all.'
The special features disc contains an exclusive documentary directed by Matthew Amos who also directed the bands’ award winning ‘Early Days’ documentary. It's an insight into the production of the ‘Dance of Death’ album from its writing and recording through to the detail in what it takes to get a massive show like Maiden on the road.
Says manager Rod Smallwood, 'The documentary is something quite special for the fans as it really is a very revealing portrait of how Maiden work together during recording, and it took me weeks to persuade them to let the cameras into the recording studio. Previously they'd never allowed any of this to be filmed but this time we decided to have a camera floating around to try and capture the Maiden recording process. A lot of it was filmed by Kevin Shirley and the band themselves. I think it's a great representation of the talent, effort and humour of a Maiden recording session. The documentary also covers what it takes to set up a major world tour and has various interviews with our Killer Krew and hopefully it will be as insightful and interesting as the well received ‘Early Days’ documentary footage which Matthew also directed.
As usual we have crammed as much as possible into the DVD with a host of extras including all of the promo videos from the album, background interviews with members of the production crew and fans during the tour, artwork, design sketches and photo galleries. Many hours of Maiden mayhem with a total running time of over three hours – and that's just the special features'.
The band are now taking a well deserved break following their hugely successful touring schedule this year, having headlined virtally every major festival in Europe including Reading and Leeds here in the UK, as well as taking the USA by storm on this year's Ozzfest bill. Preparations for the next studio album (their 14th) will begin in February next year with recording commencing in the Spring of 2006.
The full set list from the show is:
WILDEST DREAMS

CAN I PLAY WITH MADNESS

100% agree. Maiden Fans are pretty hardcore, I'm sure they would love for them to play some of the lesser known songs.
All I want is a live album with songs that haven't been on any of the others.

If Maiden keeps writing songs, then they have a smaller and smaller percentage of their songs which can possibly be squeezed into a gig. Of course, some of the songs they just don't play anymore, probably because the fan response was lukewarm originally, or they just don't see a big demand for it.

I'd like to see them play Charlotte the Harlot, 22 Acacia Avenue, Powerslave, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Genghis Khan, and Purgatory, these are some great songs they no longer play. Does anyone else find it stupid that Run To The Hills, The Trooper, Iron Maiden, and Wrathchild, all great songs nonetheless, are played at every single Maiden gig when other great songs are left out? Hallowed Be Thy Name is the exception to this rule.
It wouldn't be a Maiden Gig without the anthemic set closer being Iron Maiden.
t'wouldn't be right.
I don't like Wrathchild too much. One of the worst songs on Killers IMO
I would have loved to go on the X-Factour..They did the aftermath!
I thought I read that Maiden did play The Duellists on the World Slavery tour.

Nope, i just checked, and nope
its a shame if they didn't, tis a good song
NP-Judgement of Heaven
what annoyed me about this tour was that they dropped Charlotte the Harlot for Wrathchild, because a lot of the fans didn't know CtH!

What the hell, i'll just do SiT now as well
1. Alexander The Great
2. Caught Somewhere In Time
3. Heaven Can Wait
4. De Ja Vu
5. Sea Of Madness
Thanks for going on without me guys.
Nah, my computer ****ed up on me so I haven't been on in quite a while. Anyway, no more album bios for me. They're boring. So list your favorites from 'Somewhere in Time' if you haven't alreday. Mine:
1. Wasted Years
2. Sea of Madness
3. Alexander the Great
4. Deja Vu
5. Stranger in a Strange Land
We we'll be getting to 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son' shortly. I'm adding up the totals from the other albums. Hopefully when we have the elimanation rounds, not everyone will vote for 'Hallowed Be Thy Name.' Cheers. :chug:

I think Hallowed Be Thy Name would be a better closer personally, but Iron Maiden is good. And Crag I agree Rime of the Ancient Mariner should be played more often, awesome song.
Now that ClassicRockMan did best song on each album let's do the two worst on each album. Let's say first three this time. (1 is worst 2 is second worst)
Iron Maiden:
1. Running Free
2. Strange World
This was a hard album almost every song is fantastic. Although those songs are the worst on the album, they're still great songs.
Killers:
1. Prodigal Son
2. Ides of March
Neither are bad per se. Ides of March is more of an opener and Prodigal Son just isn't fantastic. Still good songs.
Number of the Beast:
1. Gangland
2. Invaders
Both are decent but below Maiden's normal standard of excellence.
ST
1. Running Free
2. Sanctuary
Killers
Don't have it yet
NOTB

2. Run To The Hills
i'll just do the rest while i'm at it

BNW
