HMV where I live tell me they're getting on October 1st, and that's when they're giving me my copy.
I'm not sure if that's the official release date or not.
If it isn't until after that... :p to you all (and I'll tell you if it's not worth buying...or if it is)

We should start an Iron Maiden tribute band.
I'll volunteer as singer.
I can record digitally now, so we could do it over the internet.
Anyone want to join?
EDIT: I also have a drummer willing...guitarists/bassists?
I play bass, though my recording is primitive.

Bruce: me
Nicko: Chris
Janick:Andy
Adiran:Crag
Dave:Ash
Steve: Creepin.

I'll start learning the Trooper, and get Chris to record drums for it while you guys argue over solos.
Meanwhile, can you all post your e-mail (so I can send parts to you) and the town you live in (to see if we live close enough to anywhere to actually attempt a gig :) )
Oh, and they postponed the DotR DVD again
It's now out October 24th in the UK.

I'll try and get the drums recorded sometime this week. I don't think Chris has learnt the drums for the Trooper, but I have told him we ought to cover it in our other band (Suicidal Ducklings - punk rock outfit)...he vetoed it though...it's not punk enough.

Depends what you've got. The way I'd do it would be plug a microphone into the microphone jack on your computer, then put it in front of your amp with the effects set up right. That way you can hear it the way the computer does.
As for software, use Audacity: here (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) and this (http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?lame_enc) plug-in.
Once you get the drum track, open Audacity, go
Project -> Import Audio
and select the drum track from the hard drive.
Then make sure you've set up properly and press the red circle near the top and play your part. If you make a mistake you can stop it and delete the track easily. If you find going to one part difficult (i.e. the solo) record everything apart from it, then use the same method to get the solo.
When you've finished, find the solo button on each track, and select your parts with it. This is so you only send your part back, and not a mixed version of everything...it means I fiddle around with levels saving you lot the bother.
When you press the green triangle you should only hear the parts you've recorded. Then select:
File -> Export as MP3
The first time it does this it will come up with an error message. You just need to find the file in the second download (lame_enc.dll) in the box that should come up and it will work fine.
You'll then have an mp3 of your part. E-mail it back to me and I'll mix it in with the drums.

You can also get the other one here (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows). It's called Lame MP3 Encoder.
You only need it if you want to export to mp3, which is probably most convenient, although I can also read the .ogg format.
.wav takes up too much space.
So is Jannick

I work at the Silhouette Club in HULL \m/
I don't think we could do that, since we need to change volumes of the instruments so that they compliment each other and the Bass is gonna need to be cranked up to the sky :p
What we could do is; Uber sends the Drum track to each one of us, we record using that drum track and then we send the recording (minus the drums) to the Mixer...

To the person playing bass for The Trooper: can you do the two-finger triplets the whole way through?
I used to use three fingers because I couldn't twiddle my middle and index fingers fast enough. But then I tried two fingers and found that the sound is much more accurate with what Steve plays (of course  ). But now my fingers get tired too easily and I can't really play the whole song that way! ARGH!

Chris is working on the drums as we speak. He got a Duallist double bass pedal today (double bass pedal, but you only need one foot) so it's going to be interesting...we might have some crazy bass drum going on which wasn't there before.
I'll go round his house and make sure he records it on Thursday, unless he already has, so I can send it off to everyone.

Go get powertabs immediately, it is seriously the greatest thing ever.
powertabs.net, go to forums and the download is there somewhere. It has guitar and bass and even plays the song in MIDI so you can follow along.

Do you have the actual program? You need that first.
Well, as you can see, there are multiple versions for each song, some has only bass or guitar or both. The ratings are usually dead on though, so go by those and look out to see if they're live or whatnot.
