I personally think that Iron Maiden's best song is Number of the Beast (666)
speaking of that, will someone help me out and get me the tabs?
http://www.mxtabs.net/tab_versions.php?path=Guitar,i,621,Iron+Maiden,The +Number+Of+The+Beast%28all%29,201911
That's the best there is on the net, get Powertabs or GP4, full of all good tabs. :thumb:

murders in the rue morgue
another life
prowler
the trooper
remember tomorrow
run to the hills
charlotte the harlot
revelations
where eagles dare
die with your boots on
phantom of the opera
the number of the beast

iron maiden
running free

Talk we must about Guitars.
Also, I think we will be needing to do fills for some songs, so we might have upto 4 guitar tracks on some songs... :confusion:
album version or Rock in Rio version?
eithers good, probably the original seeing as most of the tabs will be for it

You can mix three guitars in the song, otherwise how would Maiden do it? Usually, one guitar is in the right, and one guitar is in the left (Usually, Adrian - R and Dave - L) with Janick in the center channel. :x

btw guys:
I may need to one of the geetars and martin to record some bits before I record my drum line, coz of the songs which start off without drums, I'm not too sure on how long you want to wait, coz we may have different ideas about tempo.
SO:
Can I have someone please record me:
POTO intro (up until the drums come in properly).
SOTC intro (up to the end of the "came to wash my sins away" bit)
Iron Maiden guitar intro
FOTD, HBTN and Rime start more or less at the same time, so no-one needs to do anything for that.
OPTIONALLY, I can just start playing when I come in, and I'll leave it up to Martin to not actually start the drum track playing until it when it would come in regularly. Whatever's easier, you know?

They use an overall tonality of Em a lot, however, their songs do tend to change key in places (Run to the Hills goes Em-Dmaj-Am-G-Dmaj-Am-G-Em-G. And remember, thats not chords, thats overall tonality, which dictates which chords are used)
Their riffs are all fairly similar in style, get lots of tabs and look for similarities between the notes they use and the rhythms.

Oh, I didn't see your second question up there:
The reason I thought you were a good bassist is because you played Rime and POTO with your band live, AT LIVE TEMPO! Doesn't that just have an implication underneath it of "I am awesome at bass?"
That's why I want to actually hear you play it, because that would be cool :)

Interesting. I've been practicing that solo for quite some time myself.
I'd really like to hear your version.
Sometimes when playing it, I'm tempted to emulate the LIVE version instead of the studio version. The studio version is very perfect, but there's something about the energy in the live version. The extra bend in the beginning of it, as well as the frenzy further on.
I have always preferred Gers' solo over Murray's in this song.
So will I get the chance to hear your version soon?

I also know that you obviously got another couple of weeks to practice. So, if you're spending your time right, you'll be able to pull off a decent version very soon.
Would you mind telling me how long you've been playing, just for the record? Thus, I get an idea of what to expect.
