Any one care to translate what this kid is going on about? I'd like to know what a 'kin "cak" is..and from the other post I'd like to know what foiund is..
It's kinda funny becuase you know Maiden is coming close to an end. They're all getting rather old now..I mean they can't exactly jump around on stage forever can they? Also with the release of The Early Day's, that would lead people to beleive they are going to do something like a The In-The-Middle Day's, which would lead to think they will make something like a The Final Day's.
Steve is by far the best bassist in metal. To me there is no doubt, he looks so **** cool on stage. His bass ability's are amazing, he can play stuff so well but what really takes it home to me, is that he has written SO MANY AMAZING songs. There are endless Maiden songs written by Steve that just make you go "Ohhh 'kin bloody god, this guy is good"
I don't think they'll break up. They have a lot of material left in them, and until someone dies, I think it will continue.
On another note, I'm proud of myself because I converted my Early Days DVD into audio files, so I can put them on my iPod.

That's pretty funny. I thought this might interest some people.
I misinterpreted Fear of the Dark (Iron Maiden). The line is "I have a phobia that someone's always there" . I thought it was faux mia (said as phobia with a "m" instead of a b)because faux ami is "false friend" or false idea in French, and I thought that faux mia might have been a fancy way of saying faux ami. They both make sense and sound similar.
I don't think they'll break up. They have a lot of material left in them, and until someone dies, I think it will continue.
Touch wood, lol. they'll keep on recording for a few years i think, but just not tour as much as they have in the past.

To be honest, if I we're in Maiden and I had all the success that they had, the only place I would want to die would be on stage..I think that after all the effort Steve put into Maiden, after he poured his heart and soul out into the music, he will never want to quit. I think Steve will play 'till the day he die's, and he'll just keep playin' all the way to heaven or hell or where ever he may go.

Today me and my drummer were jamming (our bassist couldn't come).
We were talking about Nicko's bass technique.
He said "He does something like this" and started doing it slow..."so it should sound like this, and this is where I mess up" and started doing really fast bass drumming.
Me: :amaze:
Him: :amaze: I can do it! *Stops* I can do it!
Me: You know what this means? *Starts playing The Wicker Man*
So we played The Wicker Man, and he did the part most drummers do on a double bass, with a single (and pretty worn out too) bass pedal, and we sounded really cool.
Except where I balled up the solo.

My drum teacher can't do the wicker man like nicko, and I'm willing to bet neither can your drummer. why?
because while the speed is attainable, and I have no doubt that your drummer CAN reach such speed (as can my teacher), what is nigh-on impossible is the POWER. get your drummer to slam the bass pedal as hard as he can. Not including live...do Iron Maiden have any good videos?
/Hasn't seen any of them
I bet I could create a great video for Passchendale.
I've had the same thought.
Wildest Dreams is a good video, So's run to the hills, NOTB, Women in Uniform, Afraid to shoot strangers, From here to eternity, Aces high, the Camp Chaos version of Aces high is 'kin amazing.
Stew_Blink

I agree that all of those video's being good. It would be to long to make a Passchendale video. A good video that Maiden could do would be DoD but it's also to long..but it would make a great video if they did it right.
trooper = best camp chaos
I like the videos for The Trooper, Run To The Hills, Aces High, Rainmaker and Wickerman videos. The rest are either live or horrible.
i saw a good live video for Hallowed be thy name last night, it was recorded at monsters of rock.

If you have ever watched him on a video he looks like he is attacking the strings pretty hard with his fingers, so maybe that and a combination of eq settings give you that clicky sound, but good question i have always wondered that too.

The clicking sound comes from the string hitting the frets above the ones you're using. Say you're fretting the seventh fret (fairly common in Maiden songs :p), the clicking would come from the string hitting the 19-20th frets, or somewhere up there. I like that sound, but I can only get it by attacking the strings really obnoxiously and plucking close to the end of the neck (like Geezer).

You don't need tabs for Iron Maiden songs, just remember these four notes:
G--------------------------------
D--------------------------------
A-7777-5555-3333--22-55--7777-
E--------------------------------
That's the gist of almost every Maiden song, although if you need help with the fills just play a lot of 5's, 7's, and 9's.
I saw the video of Blaze getting angry after a fan spat at him during The Trooper earlier.
It was quite funny, but his singing was pretty poor, he couldn't hit the same high notes as Bruce during the ''Whoas''.

IMO Blaze was just a terrible singer for Maiden. His voice just didn't suit them in the slightest and lacked the emotion Maiden needed. And live he was just crap. I know hes a different singer from Bruce but IMO opinion his voice just doesn't suit maiden. I've heard live stuff of him and studio and i just didn't like his voice. Paul was a completly different style to Bruce and I like Dianno's style but if he was to take on Bruces songs I doubt he could pull off many of them, Same with Bruce doing Dianno i don't think he can do it that well.
Also the first Maiden songs I heard was on a Blaze album, I think it was Virtual XI but can't really remember and I didn't like his voice then either so I couldn't have compared it to Bruce's.
EDIT: Wheres this Dianno with Maiden England gig taking place Brumington? Is it a one of or a mini tour thing?

The X-Factor and Virtual XI are good albums, Blaze sounded great for them as his voice suits darker songs much more than Bruce's voice, and the 2 Blaze albums were much darker than most of the Bruce albums.
