And it was really really good. Him and his band played all the classics you'd expect and what he lost with his vocals he easily made up for musically. Every song was fantastic and overall, it was a great show.
Anyone else seen him live recently?

His voice sucks now.
His voice sucks now.
it'd still be cool to say that you've seen Bob Dylan.
setlist or highlights?

I've seen him twice, with practically the same show. This year at Roskilde Festival, it was really cool. As far as I can recall, the last four songs he played were Summer Days, Masters of War, Like a Rolling Stone and All Along the Watchtower, all of which are fantastic. Many non-Dylan fans that saw it thought it sucked though. You have to be a fan of him to appreciate his live show (and accept the fact that he can't walk or sing, basically).

Really? I heard he can be quite arsey with his audience these days. Yet, I'd still love to see him in concert

I'm sort of a half-fan. All I have is Blonde On Blonde. I'll more than likely become a bigger fan now though.
These are the only ones that I recognized and can still remember from the setlist. It was in about this order:
Maggie's Farm
The Time's They Are-A-Changin
Mr. Tambourine Man
(Something my dad didn't recognize but it was really good, about 20 miles or something like that)
Just Like A Woman
Highway 61
Shelter From The Storm
(A few I didn't recognize)
Encore:
Like A Rolling Stone
All Along The Watchtower (This was really good)
It seemed to get off to a rocky start but around 3-4 songs in everyone started feeling it and looking past his voice. He had a really good backing band to help him out. Hightlights for me were Mr. Tambourine Man, Highway 61 and All Along The Watchtower.

I'd love to see him play It's Alright Ma.

I'd love to see him play It's Alright Ma.
He played it when I saw him, but it took me a minute to figure out what song it was becuase he turned it into a 12 bar blues song. As he did with more than half the songs in his set. But it was still awsome being in the same building as Bob Dylan.
I saw him at Jazz Fest this year. He was bad live, but the novelty of being able to see him play makes up for it.

I saw him on tour with Willie Nelson last summer
Willie was meh, but Bob played a great set, as always his voice wasn't so great but it didn't really matter.
The funny thing was, the newspaper here said that the reason his voice kept cracking and such was because he was "reinventing his songs"
right, because he totally wanted his voice to crack
I'm seeing him in September, I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I know someone who went and filmed it, he got kicked out on the last song and was still allowed to keep the video. It was very good

I'm going to see him at the end of the month. I've seen him four times already and it's always been great. I wish I could have been around in the
60's though to see him in full form.

Still good to say you've seen him, even if his voice sucks now.

It does, but I still get a bit angry when non-Dylan fans talk about how the Roskilde concert sucked. It got a poor review too (both rating and writing quality)
I just read that the new Dylan album is supposed to be really, really, really good.

i wouldn't want to see him live.
i've got this untarnished picture of him in my head as the young version of himself. and he's walking down a deserted highway with just his acoustic guitar and he stops by some train tracks, hops a freight-train, and jumps off in some no-name dirty town. he walks into the bar (which is like a western bar from the 1930's) sits on a stool, puts his hat on the ground, and plays a few acoustic folk songs. a couple people drop some quarters into his hat, and then when he's done he pockets the change, puts his hat back on his head, and walks to the next town. THAT'S bob dylan.
not this big stadium, tour bus, million dollar crap he's doing now.

So you've just made up a completely ficticious mind-effigy of bob for what reason?

Yeah I just saw him Wednesday night and he was great....I was saddened that he didn't play any guitar though...just keyboards....maybe he's got arthritus now and it hurts him to play? He's playing guitar in that Itunes commercial so what gives?

The last few albums have been okay, but people have been saying they're up with his best, which is just bollocks.

That's because people are desperate to latch onto something of Dylan's that isn't ****, which has been everything since 1975.

I just saw him last night. I'm not very familiar with him but since I recognized most of the songs I think it was mostly old stuff, which was weird because I would've expected him to play a lot of newer songs.
It was an okay show, I wished he would've played guitar for a few songs though.
