I think a serious post from my behalf in this section would not hurt every once in a while. Besides, I enjoy writing Featured Artist Articles, helps me with my journalism abilities (if there are such in me, anyway).

How could you ever say no to those eyes... and those lips! :naughtey:
Here's my most subjective part regarding Fiona Apple: I frankly don't remember how I heard about her, but most probably it was here on MX, and I'm pretty positive it was from John (DarkLikePoe) so I thought. "Oh well, it can't be too bad if you listen to her, now do you?". The first song I downloaded from here was "Across the Universe", and I still find that song, despite being a cover from the Beatles, one of my most favorite songs from her repertoire, despite not exactly being a really representative song of her whole discography (maybe that also helped, who knows). But to make this work let's make a compilation (See: Read from the internet and make an essay on) of her life so far.
BIOGRAPHY
Fiona Apple Maggart was born on September 13th, 1977 in New York City, product of a night (I want to believe) of wild fornication between Brand Maggart and Diane McAffee, both dedicated to acting for a living. Nonetheless, as many famous (Or actors with big ecpectations in life, anyway) couples, this one didn't last that much, and her parents split up when she was four-years old, leaving her and her sister Amber stuck in a rut full of questions and hardly fulfilling answers. This environment however, was crucial for her "musical development" further. A childhood full of step siblings, therapists and a tragic event at young age (let's call it rape at twelve years to avoid misinterpretations) were the crumbs for a pie with a lot of goat cheese, and I want to believe a little bit of cherry jam on top of it, which we'll call music from this point ahead.
She was being musically inclined at young age (she was eight). Nonetheless, preferring improvisation (and let's picture that old lady with a stuttering hand that would hit us in the back with a ruler if we didn't play correctly... right? Guys?) she just decided to quit them and began to play on her own. After years and years of teenage drama and internal struggles, Fiona had a friend who once babysitted for Kathryn Schenker give her a demo with some of her songs.
Now, for regular joes (and janes, probably) who don't know who Mrs. Schenker iis, I can tell you that she's kinda big in the music industry. She is like, a publicist, and she like represented this really unknown band named Aero...postale or something, and this dumb guy who says his name is Sting or something. Really unknown is she.
Anyway, word says that she was really impressed with her musical style and overall vibe, so she thought "what the hell". She introduced her to Andrew Slater, who dedicates his life to producing and managing artists. Then she joined an affiliate label from Sony, WORK, so work began for her and it worked, because she worked out a good album. Her debut album Tidal impressed the music industry (which are basically a bunch of idiots who don't know sh¡t about music and get payed for doing what we do for Sputnik, but with 50% more objectivity and personal experience. And minus the creation of ten thousand genres). She got an award from MTV, but being such a "kick-butt girl" she told all the people in her acceptance speech not to follow what corporative media tells them to do. Very true, yet pretentious commentary. More albums came abound... oh well not really. Just two more: When the Pawn...(insert the rest of the text in the cover)/B] which is ot a certain extent a brighter, a little happier album than Tidal (just look at the smiling cover picture) and more recently Extraordinary machine, which has its lovers and its haters among the fanatics. But she's out there, and making her music and stuff, so why not give her a try?
