Optimounts for all 3 of them, should be in on monday at birmingham drum centre.

I went for the reference style edges. Double 45s on everything with gradually larger roundovers as the drum gets larger.

pete, where did you post the tutorial for making drums? and what kind of lathe do you use to do that. also what kind of lathe do you use?

Parradiddle Pete
08-12-2006, 03:42 PM
We use a VB36 Master Bowl Turner. Pretty amazing lathe all in all, about the top one you can get. I posted the snare progress pics in a thread here on MX. Search for it using 'windowsill' as the word. If you dont find it, try on forum.drumshed.org, same search keyword, if not, then you're out of luck sorry.

Ohhh man that is looking awesome! Wood hoops are the complete daddy!

Im trying to create something similar, just trying to track down a lathe which shouldnt take long, how does it sound though? And the bearing edges, how did you do them? what kind of angle did you do it at?

How much has the wood cost you so far?

Any tips and help would be appreciated!
