my first cowbell

So thursday night i was drinking with my friends and i started dreaming of some timbales and cowbells cuz i think it would be cool. Anyway as the night went on my friends dad came home, and since hes a drummer and he really likes me cuz i am too, i had a little conversation with him
Me: "everyone needs a cowbell right?"
daddy: "hell yeah....erhm...you don't have one do you?
Me: " No i don't, but it would be cool if i did!"
daddy:" Ypu can have one of mine, here you go!"
Me: "okay thanks!! you rock!"

So now i have a cowbell...jsut dont know where to put it!
He didn't give me a mount for the cowbell, but he said hes has one he can give me....anyway suggestions!

A good place is on your bass drum hoop, left of your hi-hat rod, or off a cymbal stand rod.

umm you could mount it on your bass drum, or mount it on a close crash stand if possible (depending where it is) or you could somehow mount it over your hihats. you can also get a pedal mount, but i doubt your looking for that. See what mount he has (if hes going to give it to you) and go from there.
