Can someone explain to me what this is and send me a diagram for it because I would like to know what the hell it does.

i believe what your referring to is just a switch that cuts te mids out.
Yeah probably but i mean what does that do to make it sound slappy?

A typical bass slap tone revolves around scooped out mids with slightly boosted treble. A 'slap switch' just scoops (lowers the amount of) the mids. Usually a preamp with a slap switch allows you to set the amount of cut the switch has with a little trim pot inside the control cavity.
You have to slap to get an actual slap sound, unless of course, you're playing a synthesizer.
