What Coltrane CD was Afro Blue originally on?

Afro Blue Impressions, I believe. However, I would reccomend the live take on Live at Birdland. It's one of my favorite tracks ever, and has the best drumming I've ever heard.

I'm thinking about buying that one, is it a good CD as a whole (birdland)?
Also, isn't the CD just callle'd "impressions"

No, Impressions is different Coltrane album.
The Birdland album is fantastic. The two by-far standouts for me are the take of Afro Blue (see my comments above), and Alabama, a really somber and beautiful song supposedly set to MLK Jr.'s eulogy for the girls killed in the Alabama church bombing in the early 60's. The other tracks are good, as well.
