Out of curiosity, what makes you think you're even capable of running a website like this? If you were to buy the forums, in theory, do you think you could keep it from falling apart? Mx is a big community, and it has a lot more problems than you, or I are aware of, so you you really want that in your life? Besides, you probably aren't the only person who has entertained ideas of going into business with Jeremy, but remember, this is his hobby.
That said, it's also his e-baby, and I think he likes being "the webmaster" too much to part with it (any part of it). But hell, if he does let you buy in, feel free to ban me or something for insubordination.

It's not supposed to mean anything. I'm not quite sure this'll go over due to the reasons Hep Kat stated, but it's worth a shot if you really want to do it.

I'm confident that I'll do a good job. I just plan on helping with the financing and spending time trying to turn it around to become profitable. Even though it is his hobby, I'm sure he doesn't like losing money doing it.
I'm a college student just like Jeremy though so just like him, I don't really have all day to spend on here. Even though both of us would be on here part time, two heads are better than one, right?
Yeah, losing money on anything has to suck. Still, the way I see it, if he needs people to keep this place working, he can always look to Jim and Alex. They are, after all, administrators. In a way, it mostly seems like all that would come out of this is you paying J to be an admin. I'm not saying that you don't have to best interests of the site at heart, it's just not something I think you (or any other user) should worry about.
Just my two cents.
Uh, basically what Hep Kat said. Even though I'm definitely not mx and would never speak on his behalf, if I was indeed Monsieur Jeremy, I most definitely would NOT allow some random user to have a say in his operation.
I wouldn't even let DBJ have a say in anything for reasons I won't explain.
The only person I would allow would be Wintermute.
But the thing is, you start with MXTabs in '97, watch that become an elite tablature site, and then have the forums and now Sputnikmusic, and there's no way in hell that you'd allow someone randomly - regardless of how genuine his or her intentions may be - to just all of a sudden obtain financial (and more) sway in his project. I wouldn't even want Wintermute to have a financial say if I have been working on building a site for almost ten years.
That's mx's mantra: it's not his job to maintain, but to build. All he does is want to build and expand his Sputnikmusic empire.
Sometimes he does maintain when I become a whiny bitch about it, but now that I can't do that anymore, he sorta-kinda does both.

Maybe you should wait for mx to answer anyway.
