i was a bit surprised to see this, but apparently, 2k games has asked sub pop records to create the soundtrack for its new game nhl 2k7.
song list looks pretty good, to be honest.
Arlo - "Runaround"

It's all about the Nebula :) I remember they were on a Tony Hawks game once too, or that might have been a Fu Manchu song. On second thoughts I'm pretty sure it was Fu Manchu.

Terrible pairing of music and the game. The Postal Service with hockey? That's like a wrestling game with Jeff Buckley.

i actually might have to check it out (work at a video game store) just to listen to the soundtrack. seriously... that's a pretty solid list of bands. although i admit it doesn't really match, it could be interesting.
the constantines and thermals might fit, but as much as i love the postal service, it doesn't seem like it'd work.
can't wait for the new grand theft auto soundtrack... i hear instead of the gangster thug theme, they're going with nick drake and wilco. ben gibbard is an unlockable character. could be interesting.

tony hawk normally does a really good job with their soundtracks outside of your normal thrash punk crap.
well i'd take that anyday compared to what's currently used in hockey games.
