Anyone here like 'em ?
I really like...the album Yank Crime.
A progressive rock punkish band.

Yank Crime is splended, especially Luau and Sinews. You should check out DLJ related bands, Pitchfork and Hotsnakes, if you haven't already.

the only problem i have with yank crime is i feel like it's kidn of anti-climactic.
i love rome plows and i feel like it's at least twice as awesome as every other song on that album

i agree. great music, but it doesn't really lead up to anything. it just feels like it plays some songs and then it's done.
still great music though, it just feels like a mix CD of their songs rather than being a well planned album.

This is a really neat band. The only song I really liked from the self-titled is "Atom Jack," but Yank Crime has some awesome tracks. "Golden Brown" is my favorite, and although I used to dislike the longer songs I found out that "Luau" is great too. Just check my user title/location!

Is the Jehu pronounced Jew? Drive like jew.
No. It's pronounced like Jay-Who, it's a character from the Bible (don't worry, they aren't a Christian band).
Awsome band, everything they did in this band, and their other bands was/is completly awsome. If you dig them you should definetly check out some other San Diego bands that were in the same vein as them during the "next Seattle years" (earliy-mid 90's) like Swing Kids, Antioch Arrow and Clikitat Ikatowi.

Also check out Spacehorse, which is basically a Gravity Records supergroup, they're ****ing awsome. None of those guys have lost it.
Another band i completly forgot about (i was limiting myself to purely San Diego bands, which was dumb) is Unwound. Check out their CD Fake Plastic Ideals, anyone who digs DLJ will love these guys, very similar and from the same time period. You also might want to check out some other bands like Kerosene 454. Go to www.epitonic.com and search for Drive Like Jehu (or any band that you'd like to find some similar stuff) and it will give you a bunch of stuff that is similar/related.

They were the best thing around at the time. I'd take the Snakes over 'em on most days, but that doesn't detract jack from how good they were.
I've seen a Jehu song played live (by Hot Snakes nonetheless), and by christ was it somethin'.
