I splurged on a nifty BBE preamp with a built-in maximizer, so no need for this one. Two channels, you know the unit. If you don't, it's hard for me to explain what it does... I've heard it best described as "taking a pillow off your speakers". I use my amplifier to listen to music occasionally, and the sound quality is dramatically different--such that my friends have referred to it as my "magic box".

Some cosmetic wear (scratches on casing), but fully operational. Great unit. Pics below:

hmm. if the volume pedal deal i'm trying to work out falls through, i'd definitely consider it.
Pity I am outside of the US.
I love the product placement towel by the way.
Boy, I am now thirsty for a coke all of a sudden.

From the BBE site:
" All music that is amplified through a loudspeaker suffers some loss of fidelity - or subtle distortions - caused by the inherent characteristics of the loudspeaker itself. The BBE system addresses these problems by compensating for phase and amplitude distortions and, in effect, delivering the signal to the speaker in a form which allows it to reproduce the original live performance more fully and more faithfully."
It brings life to your sound. I've heard that more expensive cabinets--Schroeder and whatnot--don't get any benefit, while it'll spark life into ampeg, avatar, behringer, hartke, etc.

so how do i run it to my rig? in the FX loop? or put it infront of the amp?

I had it in my effects loop post-EQ.

in your opinion... do you think this is a piece of gear that everyone should have if they don't have top-notch equipment? i'm currently running a Hartke rig that i absolutly love, but i'm thinking about adding either a sansamp programmable bass driver or the rackmounted RBI sansamp to get more versatility out of my rig. i'm just wondering if i'll use this enough and love it enough to make it worth the money for me, however, your description is quite enticing. plus, i respect you, so i know you wouldn't screw a fellow MXer over...

I didn't play a gig without it. It also does wonders for your audio if you're like me and play your music through your bass rig.
As for my legitimacy, go to talkbass.com and look up my name. I've a good few sales and fully positive feedback. I've even sold on here.

sounds great.
incase my dad is hesitant, would you consider shipping the maximizer out first, then recieving payment? please answer honestly, if you really wouldn't feel comfortable doing that, please tell me. my dad considers ebay alot more reliable, since you can leave feedback, just paypalling someone money doesn't guarantee anything.

I have an ebay account, but only 2 feedbacks so far. I've only bought on ebay. If I could see your account though, and your feedback's pretty positive, I'd consider it.

not that i'd need it, but i'm assuming channels A and B can be used simultaneously? also, where exactly does this fit into the chain? by the way it seems to work, it would seem like it would be the last item before the cab, but that seems strange.

It should be after anything you want to sound more alive, basically. Definitely goes after EQing and Distortion. I generally put it after EVERYTHING, though.
And yes, both channels may be used at once.
