I have a ESP B404 and a samll basic 112 peavy practice amp in my house..i dont use my halfstack at home but, i was lookin for other peoples opinion on funk tones...test others out. Its got pre gain, low, low mid, high mid, and high

wow someone made the thread that i was gonna make as i just joined a funk band and wanted to know a good eq to get a good funk tone

it's subjective both to the amp, the band, the taste of the listener and your personal preference. play with it until it sounds right

I don't know how great an ESP will be for funk...

Just play all the amps you can. Trnes is totally subjective. You might find your perfect funk tone with that ESP and an amp generally thought to be for metal, for all we know.

Don't forget the bass you're using. If you have a neck pick up try cranking that all the way up, when I do that on my jazz bass I get a real nice funky slap tone.

for funk i love a strong presence in the low mids and bass. I'll keep the treble almost flat, but have some in the mix though. For me funk is about feeling the bass hit you in the chest, and having a nice lowend will do just that.
