I love James Taylor.

Technically, he was a folk singer. But he took a different approach to the socially conscious protest songs of Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie, and instead appeared as a calm voice, singing sensitive, poppier folk songs in the vein of Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, and Cat Stevens.

I think he rocks. His music can pretty much lift me out of any bad mood, especially How Sweet It Is.

Discuss James Taylor ITT.

I never really heard him until I went to the Crossroads Guitar Festival. He was okay there, I guess. Not really the best place to judge someone's music.

How sweet it is to be loved by you. Whatever happened to LaihoRocker666 from Florida? Anyone know? He was my wife.

I think that he's now going by the name of Wotan, although if it's the guy I'm thinking of then he's had about 16 name changes in the last year or something. I've only ever heard Shed A Little Light from James Taylor, which I liked without really having any interest in seeing if his other music appealed to me at all. The Aimee Mann version of that song is far better though.
You are correct.

He wrote the song Fire & Rain? Hm. Interesting.

^ Haha, burned.

James Taylor is great, anyone who is into solo acoustic/singing should check him out, plenty to learn from him.
