I am picking up a new drum set on wednesday and am going to be selling my old drums.
My old kit consists of a 5 piece rock config pearl forum with stock cymbals as well as 20" b8pro ride, 18" b8 crash, 16" b8 thin crash, 14" b8 hats, iron cobra double pedal and iron cobra hihat (also has stock hihat stand and bass pedal).

My new kit will be a 6 piece taye studio pro with an xs20 crash, b8 crash ride, 13" hand hammered hats, an iron cobra single pedal and a pearl hihat stand.

Now my question is what things should I keep and what should I sell, should I sell the iron cobra pedal, or mount a cowbell to it, should I keep the old pearl hihat stand or the new pearl one, etc. The double pedal is for sure staying, as will the IC hihat stand. Its sortof a cost/benefit analysis of how much extra money I could make versus how much money things are worth.

All thoughts welcome.

might as well keep the double pedal. the day will come when, sitting behind your kit, you look at your feet and think "Wish I had another one."

when selling a beginners kit you have to think about the guitar center pinstripe rip off... the people that are buying your kit most likly ont realize the value of iron cobras or high quality hardware. so why sell them when you can keep them and possibly use them later... or sell them seperatly

i would sell the 5 peice forum kit, with the b8 ride, hats, and crash along wit stock pedal and stock hihat stand.... probably sell it for $400 and keepeverything else for later on...

I should be able to sell it for more then that, there are tons of ads for forums here for around 500 with only stock stuff because people are stupid and the kids think ooo pearl owns.

sell it locally and not on the 'bay then.

just give everything a good cleaning, make it all shiny and pretty, you know? and you should be good.

All right thanks everyone, I think I know what Im gonna do.
Im gonna keep the IC single and use it for a cowbell or tamborine (probably the cowbell) and just sell the b8 starter set and the forum.
Once I sell the forum Ill buy a wicked ride, then I should be about set for the time being.
I think I will keep the pearl stock cymbals because I actually like their sound, its very different, and will eventually replace the stock hats with some paiste sig dark hats to contrast the 13" hand hammered hats.
