REcording question

i was just thinking...well

we have decent recording equipment...i use 6 mics...that CAD pro 4pc..kit
and 2 sm57s

im not saying i dont get a good sound..but

my question is...if you take of resonant heads...doesnt it get a better recording sound? i know not to do that for live situations but for recording...

am i right?

Wrong. You get a deader tom sound. You still want resonance, but not so much that it's gonna muddy up the mix. If it sounded good, wouldn't all the pro drummers be doing that when they record? consider it.

ur right just an idea..i was wrong though ..i havent had much experience recording yet...we are just starting to write songs so i was thinking
