I've been looking for a decent-priced PA for my band. We'll probably just be playing backyards and small venues, and I was wondering if this would be ok: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Yamaha-STAGEPAS-300-Portable-PA-System?sku=480818
and if any of you have used this, lemme know how it is. I can't spend too much. I mean, even THIS is pushing it. But, lemme know. Thanks all.

It's obviously not the best PA, and doesnt have much option for eq, but it will do its job for what you're looking for I think.

What he said, it's not the best, it'll be fine for your situation. At least you went with a decent company and not Nady or other sh*t like that.

in that package, the mixer is the only item that isn't a speaker. (the small box with the knobs and inputs and what not)

since when do we play f***ing backyards? Anyways i can prob. help a little with money when i get some saved up, since i think i'm ok on drums right now, and we could jump max to get some money out of him, remember kiki is on our side. so anyways, if you wanna look at a little higher level of one, and what are we using for the art festival. sorry, should have just emailed you or somethin, oh well

If you pushed it you could play small gigs with it providing the crowd is quiet and you are only using it for vocals.

Personally I find the minimum for any gig is 2 good 15 inchers on stands but ahh well.

couldn't we just use wheelers, 1, maybe 2 times until we have more money?

I would go with that Idea and get 2 peavey messenger 15 inchers, some stands and a powered mixer, that is if all your playing is small gigs and back yards without pa.

300watts if total power should be fine... you would have to push it though
