use gravity
to quench dying thirst
we all rely on it
it feeds our souls
and saves us from
what could be the worst

blistering heat
cracks open our pores
to all-time depths
salt water breaks the dam
and comes rushing out
the soak the land

as the temperature rises
so do the times
reliance holds strong in our hands
for the shock our bodies give
and cause this unbearable disaster
we inch towards death
with every drop of our sweat

what cruel torture
people put upon themselves
their lungs can barely inflate
to give the air they need
so why almost kill yourself
to succeed?
