Hey guys, ok, so the builders are gone now. They finished some stuff off today (fitting doors etc) and have left us. The electrician (fantastic guy) came in and stqarted to get us some power to the studio from the house. Me, Chris and my dad started to put up thermal insulation and some of the plasterboard, so I've taken some pics of the progress:

Dad again (yea, he is a little proud)

What's left to go on the walls.

My handywork
Tomorrow, I have some mates coming over to paint the building outside, while dad and chris finish off the inside (plasterboard and insulation)

The inside isnt much to look at at the moment, hence the lack of pics of it. The 3 rooms will be divided by 2 Sets of patio doors, which is gonna be cool.

Comment,

Pete

No, the riser was just to test a theory. The idea now is to make a better one with Oak as the material.

And as for that Burn in hell comment Chippy... I'll see you there :naughty:

07-31-2006, 04:51 PM
yeah. i want my daddy to build me a studio. detached from my house so i can be loud as ****. and then pay $50k for gear.

Parradiddle Pete
07-31-2006, 04:56 PM
Yea, ok then. I think that's more satisfying probably. I just think it's going to be amazing when everything drops into place, the kit built, the studio done, the rack for the kit, new cymbals, gonna be awesome if i ever get round to the cymbal part.

Chippy569
07-31-2006, 04:57 PM

Parradiddle Pete

Yea, for me i'm thinking: 13" AAX Fusion Hats, 20" AAX Stage Ride or 21" HHX Evolution Ride, Couple Vault or A Custom Crashes and another nice china, plus 3 more splashes, by my calculations, I should be done upgrading on the 31st september.

i've got to come...
-Paiste sig 13" dark crisp hats
-Paiste sig 6" 8" 10" splashes
-Paiste sig 15" fast crash
-paiste sig 16" full crash
-paiste 2oo2 18" novo china
-paiste 2oo2 cup chimes and accent cymbals (i love little bells and splashes and trinkets like that!)
-paiste NSDE mk. 1 16" crash

I think they're all about 3Mx5M, not too sure though, but they will be plenty big enough. The other door, BTW, leads to a garden store (for storing gardens;))

3m is 10', so 5m must be around 17'?

so that's 3 rooms the size of my incoming practice room. except bigger, because mine are 7'x10'

Parradiddle Pete

Lolzers. The drum room will hopefully be plenty big enough for me to get my band into along with my drums.

How do you delete your account? that guy who just posted wants to get rid of his.

Sorry about him, he is the bassist in my band, I was trying to get him to sign up, so he went and signed up under a name that isn't even his and started being stupid, he now regrets it and wants to get rid of the account.

You can never have too many cymbals. You can keep switching them out depending on the musical situation.

I think you are forgetting the wonderful power of Eminent Domain. The users of MX* need that studio and everything in it.
