that was ace man, what'd you use to make it with?

i'm uploading something i made as we speak

EDIT: here is something i made out of samples. It's got sort of a dub feel to it, not exactly the crazy electronica you might be hoping for.

I dig your stuff man, you might like some of my solo stuff. It's all analog and almost no computer editing.

I have 9 Spiral Craftwork songs but I think these are the ones that will float your boat.

I just got Cubase yesterday so I'll be making better quality production in the future.

i listened to that and liked it a lot, youve got a really cool direction, and when you learn more about production, you'll add a ton of depth to your songs i can tell. keep posting stuff as you make it!

i listened to creepy, drone, and RobotMosquitoWhatever. those were pretty cool, i really liked creepy, but it didn't really change for four and a half minutes so that's my only complaint. drone was cool too, and the other one was alright too. nah actually the robotmosquito one was cooler than drone

That was crazy funky, that organ was stella.

thanks! :)

oh by the way here's another that i can't upload onto my Cox webspace because it's too long haha (the songs about 8 minutes) but i got it on yousend it so you guys should check it out, i'd appreciate it! i think some of the beats on there are some of the best i've made. the song changes a lot, but i think it's a pretty fluid song all together.
at least i hope it is haha

Man you're really good with smooth beats and rushs. I'm uber impressed. Do you edit all of those individually or something else way more obvious that I'm overlooking. Seriously man you're sounded like an equal to aphex twin.

And for my thing I used an intakt sampler banging stuff around the house and put it through an arpeggiator and a Transver plugin from this site.

thanks man :D i really appreciate it. all of the sounds are put together with individual samples and produced entirely within acid 4.

one thing you can do is for a certain extent of time, render a new track of whatever you've got for that measure or whatever, and then you can use that as a track in song and mess with it to create new rhythms or arrangements or whatnot.

but yeah i kind of like ambient stuff so that's why like around halfway through the song you've got an interval with just a beat and the sound of the ocean. i put that in there to sort of capture how i feel when i'm just laying down at the beach just zoning out.

anyway yeah that sounds awesome, those are all ambient sounds you recorded yourself around the house? that makes the song so much cooler! keep working with stuff like that because i enjoy music like that and you have a really cool style.

nice stuff in this thread. :)

here are a few songs of mine:

It's Time:
definitely one of my more conventional tracks. not very crazy. kinda has an ambient synthy thing, and my voice except ****ed up. and it has ORGAN!
and guitar. and stuff.
http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=EE464B60037E42C8

Psycheprqe:
crazier i guess. fast & in a different time signature.
http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=13EFA7C638A54AA4

whalingthefevertoCHCHCH:
different to the other two. kinda evident by the weird name. ambient-ish guitarish, pretentious clanging noises blah & FEEDBACK & WHITE NOISE. yay.
http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=9E718B4B20F47E6B

i make all sorts of music and i don't like to be confined to genres. all my songs are completely improvised except for looping/blah in the more conventional songs. i play acoustic guitar, play keyboard, whack things, make glitchy music, make experimental noise, ambient bull****, pretentious wankery, etc.

i do lots of field recordings and record random things and me playing around with a chair and stuff. i have around 50ish "songs" so far.

This is the craziest song I've written:

Yes, I realise the first minute of it sucks. I think the last minute makes up for that though.

a couple hotkeys that have become very valuable to me:

ctrl-drag: copy a sample or group of samples
s: splice (select a sample if only for the sample, or you can splice everything at a certain point)
u: reverse sample
v: show volume line (doubleclick to add points)
p: show pan line (doubleclick to add points)
+: +1 semitone
-: -1 semitone
probably more but thats all i can think of right now

also, get like a loop going and go to the plugins menu and mess with all of them. get to know them. they are your friends. friieeennds.

but yeah if you have any questions ask me

hey everyone who checks this thread, i finished that first song, so just stream it and check it out, heres the link

http://members.cox.net/nickingv/Pko%20-%20The%20Machine%20is%20Destroying%20My%20Home.mp3

theres a picture that goes along with it, i put it next to the song on my myspace so if youre interested, http://www.myspace.com/pkomusic
haha me and my friends samatha and asif were chillin on a (special) hookah on her deck and the creek behind her back yard was being torn down by all these bulldozers, and she was telling us about all of her memories of it while it was being destroyed. so that picture i put up is really symbolic to me, and i'm sure anyone would agree knowing the story. it was all kind of a bummer to us. haha worst buzz kill ever - your backwoods creek being destroyed by the Man.

I just got a midi controller so i'm dickin' around with it. The only sample used in that song was the little drum beat.

Anyways the quality is crap becuase i recorded all the vocals through headphones, but you get the idea.

i listened to the christmas song and "live"

the first one was very repetitive. The melody wasn't really that interesting and it never changed or evolved

the second song had alot of off keyness with your voice in contrast to the background music which you might want to work on.

You're going in the right direction, you just need some refining.
