I'm looking for some software..

..that takes what I have recorded into my computer with my instrument, and transposes it into guitar tablature and/or standard notation as I play. I've heard about software like this existing, but I've never found any. Does anyone know if/where I can get the software?

PS: I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but it seemed the most suitable. Sorry if I'm in the wrong forum.

It's the right forum, yes.

There are two possible answers, both of which aren't very nice.

The first is getting an audio-midi plugin, which is near impossible to perfect, because it picks up whatever little background noise you have, and transcribes it as notation, as whichever pitch the noise technically is.

The second, and a bit more tangible way of doing things would be getting a MIDI->USB keyboard, which outputs signals to a computer through a usb cable, and could therefore easily be converted to a transcription. I'm just not sure which freeware software would be best, as I use Sonar, which has it included.
