Really bad. Doesn't even sound like them.

What the hell happened to Civ's voice?

Musically I like, but the lyrics are to rediculuous for me to comprehend, especially because they're all like over 30 now.

Sadly, I have to agree. Age really took it's toll on this band.

I don't like the new songs, but some of the people commenting on their myspace were a little harsh.

It's not that bad. You guys always rip on anything a band does that's new. Given how cheesy CIV's second album was, what else were you expecting from him? I think it sounds fine, just the lyrics are cheesy, but GB's lyrics have always been that way.

This is because we have (better) material to base it upon. The new songs absolutely suck compared to Start Today.

Did you cut and paste that from B9?

The songs suck, end of story. They didn't need to write new material. Also, CIV was CIV and GB was GB. No need to intertwine the two, because they are two different bands.

Of course it's not going to be as good as Start Today, and you shouldn't expect every release from a band to be just as good as their best. Plus, seeing the direction GB started to take, and where CIV went, these new songs should have been expected to be cheesy and melodic.

Matt?

I didn't post anything about this on B9, that place moves to fast to keep track of. Both bands sound similar, and had similar members, and were the same style. There are going to be similarities.

It's only been 17 years since the release of Start Today. Other than that, I can't explain why his voice has changed.

Your post sounds like it was made by someone who has been listening to them for years.

This is why people get pissed off at you.

Yeah, they're coming in a few weeks, and I have my doubts about seeing them. Reunion tours = no good. Plus, though I agree philosophically with most of straight-edge's ideas, I largely dislike like the whole youth crew movement.

But, there are some good local bands opening, and I can say I'm going for them.

Reunion tours = no good.

Ridiculous comment.

The only reunion show I've seen that wasn't good (VOD doesn't count) was JJ singing for Bad Brains in February. It was cool while I was there, but then I tried to watch the video and I almost gouged my ears out. He sounds terrible.

GB last summer was the best show I have ever seen. The three times I've seen Lifetime in the past year were amazing. Both times I've seen Leeway were amazing. The 20 seconds of Underdog I caught before I broke my nose at the Superbowl of Hardcore were mindblowing. Etc. etc. etc.

They aren't playing shows again. It was just tonight. 20th Year Anniversery. The line up was Carbomb, Ironbound NYC, KYI, Subzero, and Crumbsuckers. KYI was good. I could have done without the rest of the bands.

That's a shame, because aside from Civ no one was doing a damn thing on stage. Good crowd. I didn't have as much fun as I thought I would. Murphys Law set was awesome though, they covered Straight Edge right after playing Beer Song. Set Your Goals wasn't as good as when I saw them in Philly.

I'd say still go since it's GB.

Yeah, seeing Murphy's law cover Straight Edge was cool, even though the singer drank a beer throughout the set and spit it on everyone. Awesome show.

GB didn't play any of their 'new songs', so it's probably definite that it's not GB.

Learna English? Maybe I'll put it in easier terms, I kind of messed up.

The new songs on GB's profile (sorry if this has already been figured out), probably aren't songs BY Gorilla Biscuits. They didn't play the two that were on the page, so I assume that they either don't want to promote them (yet), or that the songs are not their's.
