1. What are some good bridge replacements for a strat or should i not even bother replacing my bridge what with the locking tuners on the way and everything.

2. I've heard about getting a strat wired up so you can also use the neck and bridge p'ups together. How much would this cost? would i still have the original 5 settings plus this? If i get a mini humbucker like the Lil '59 would i be able to coil tap it along with this...is it possible to coil tap a mini humbucker?

3. How much does it cost to get a humbucker coil tapped?

Thanks a lot.

1. Whats wrong with the original bridge?

2. You can wire it up yourself for free. Try Googling Strat wiring diagrams. And yes, I think you could probably coil tap a mini humbucker.

3. I think all you have to do is buy the switch, and you could do the wiring yourself. But I don't have any experience with coil tapping.

1. ya know what, i never thought of it, the people at my local shop said that the bridges are really weak on strats. Im such a fool.

2. I havent got ANY experience with electronics/soldering

3. Again, no experience.

I'd suggest getting some experience with electronics and soldering. It saves so much time, money, and stress. Instead of paying 80$ for parts and labor to have something rewired you can spend 15$ and have all brand new parts in there freshly wired.

And if your strat's bridge saddles aren't sinking on you and the bridge hasn't picked up and left the guitar, you should be fine.

fender's website has wiring diagrams for most of their guitars. obviously they would have strats. www.fender.com

1. on tremelo strats, i'm a fan of the vintage floyd rose bridges. though i'd only do it as an upgrade. if you're just replacing an old, worn bridge, go for one similar to the original.

2. it'd probably be more money than its worth. and depending on how you do it, you might replace one setting, either that or you'd be getting a new switchbox with 6 settings. as far as coil tapping a mini humbucker, it's probably possible, but i doubt it sounds too good.

3. no clue, never tried it

1. A new bridge would help with tuning stability, but personally, I wouldn't change it, my old Strat actually had decent stability.

2. Neither did I, but I didn't want to pay a bunch of money when I could do it myself for free.

3. Again, neither did I.

you could tap it if it had 4 wires(cant think of the proper word) comming out of it.
