i was wondering if anyone one knows what is the best type of wood to use in making or buying a guitar and why.

There really is no "best" type, per se, they all have their own areas where they excel and areas where they fail. Some common ones include: Alder, Mahogany, Ash, Swamp Ash, Koa, Korina, Basswood, Maple, and various others used as verneers.

depends what sound you want. judging by your name you play/like shred music. not my type of music but i think that in general guitars for that style are mostly basswood, and mahoganny (maybe with maple cap).

Mahogany is definitely good, I like Alder as well. Koa is good too, but in my experience I've found that it's pretty expensive. Like sunshine and dave said though, it depends a lot on what music you like to play, and your personal preferences.
