Final Coat

Well my bass is coming along quite a ways, i bought the green stain yesterday and am almost done the fine sanding. When i was in the luthier's store where i got the stain however, we got in to debating what the best finish would be, and it raises a good question. If i don't like the natural color of the stain and want to give it a gloss rather than simply a sealer, what's the best product to use?
