View Full Version : Fred Durst hides the truth from everyone.

In 2003 Fred Durst and his gang of nu-metal misfits (minus Wes Borland) came out with their not so hit "We've lost it" album Results May Vary. 15 tracks of post-Bizkit. But one song was not post-Bizkit. Or old, radio Bizkit even. Arguably being the most odd choice of a cover song in popular music industry history, especially for a band like Bizkit, Fred Durst decided to cover "Behind Blue Eyes" by the legends that are The Who. Being praised by hardcore LB fans as "the best song Durst has ever written" and numerous ignorant, amateur music fans, it was obviously covered to save Limp Bizkit's career, (which it honestly didn't, it failed as well as it should have).

I just thought I'd acknowledge the jump from Bizkit's previous lyrical content up to their hit, self-written single, "Behind Blue Eyes"

Now read both the song lyrics very carefully.

[Intro]
It could be the absense talking
I dont think so
I dont either
Ive gotta find a new place
A new place to feed
Gotta be

Stop everything, something is not feeling right
The planets are not all aligned
I know when I felt this before
My evil is thirsty for more
I need a new allie to feed

What can I do?
I've got an idea

I think I'll just become a priest
Decieving them with my belief
I'll preach about what life is worth
And cover my sins with the church
My demons can run around free
No one will suspect a thing
I'll show them its okay to lust
A priest is a church you can trust
I found a new allie to feed

Baptized by the unexpected
Terrorized by the imperfections

Somethings not right
The planets are not all aligned
I know when I felt this before
My evil is thirsty for more
I need a new allie to feed

What can I do?
I've got an idea

I think I'll just become a priest
Decieving them with my belief
I'll preach about what life is worth
And cover my sins with the church
My demons can run around free
No one will suspect a thing
I'll show them its okay to lust
A priest is a church you can trust
I found a new allie to feed

Baptized by the unexpected
Terrorized by the imperfections
Baptized by the unexpected
Terrorized by the imperfections

Oh my god
Im watching TV
I cant
Oh whats this world coming to
I see a priest molesting children
I see terrorists blowing up buildings
I see someone in rage
Killing Dimebag on stage
What the **** is this?
What the **** is this?
I got a kid
Should I send him to Sunday School?
I got a kid
Should I send him to Sunday School?
So you can **** him
Oh no you aint gonna **** him
How bout this?
I don't ****ing know who I can trust
In this world and I'm gonna blow
One more time
I'm not that scared

Something is not feeling right
The planets are not all aligned
I know when I felt this before
My evil is thirsty for more
I need a new allie to feed

Baptized by the unexpected
Terrorized by the imperfections
Baptized by the unexpected
Terrorized by the imperfections

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

No one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be fated
To telling only lies

But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

No one knows what it's like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you

No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through

But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool

If I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
If I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

If you ask me, the lyrics are practically the same exact thing. Of course Durst's are dumbed down a bit to make him look less intelligent; to hide the real truth: Virtually, I believe that Townshend and Durst are the same person and everyone has been fooled by one of the greatest cover up stories in human history.

Please don't be a dick. I think even R&M can enjoy a laugh and a giggle at least every now and then. I took a half hour of my time to write this thread. It has a Rock and Metal topic and it has completely valid reasoning.

I think pointing out the exact points (duh) of same ideas would be pretty nifty, unless this is some sort of joke.

EDIT: Oh wait. Yeah interesting.

Influences, after all.

umm what the hell i'm just agreeing with what he said. There really isn't much more you can comment on a joke subject. Besides this forum is lame anyways, i'd turn a cooler one into the pit.

Sorry, I guess I'm just paranoid about posting such a controversial, touchy subject in R&M :p

I wouldn't say Fred Durst's douchebaggery is a controversial topic. I'd love to see someone argue otherwise.

You're ridiculous. It's been under our noses the whole time, I'm just the only one who had the balls to say anything about it.

Jacaranda

Not that ridiculous when you think about it think about it "Break Stuff" is about breaking stuff which Pete was famous for doing. I have no explanation for "Nookie" though.

Shadows

He probably felt that Pete's only goal in music was to score poon, and since he was uncapable of getting any himself, he wrote a song about it to compensate.

I'm going out on a limb to say you didn't read the first post much.
:P
I did, I just misinterpreted what he meant be "controversial topic". =\

You just have to pick it apart by pieces:

I came into this world as a reject
Look into these eyes

Behind Blue Eyes reference

Dwellin on the past
Its burnin' up my brain

His past in The Who. All those drugs burned up his brain.

And I'm just a sucker with a lump in my throat

Pete Townshend is a closet gay.

Its kinda sad I'm the laughin' stock of the neighborhood

Because he's legendary with The Who

You would think that I'd be movin' on
But I'm a sucker like I said
****ed up in the head, not!!

Because he's mocking the people that thinks he's a crap nu-metal artist when he's really doing it on purpose for money and publicity. A music business genius.

The Nookie symbolically represents money and fame. He did it all for the Nookie, yeah the Nookie. Yeah.

The cookie was just for pop culture reasons.

Its all so obvious "My Generation" is also a Who and Limp song.

this was, of course, in response to the recent trend of hating on the who.

Check one
I don't like the radio
I don't like tv
They're selling so much **** these days
And this **** is not who I want to be

He is clearly stating here that he does not want to be a tv or a radio.

This man is most definately Pete Townshend.

I finally see the light.

Move in now move out

Pete Townshends involvement in the music industry in the 60s and 70s and his brief reclusement from the industry in the 80s and 90s.

Hands up now hands down

Durst writes about the critics acclaim of The Who and their dissaproval of his side project Limp Bizkit. He can't fanthom as to why they would disrespect such a time changing band.

Back up back up

Fred is telling those mother****ers to back up.

Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'

Such a simple message in a song. A classic theme of timeless perseverance and never giving up hope.

Keep rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin' Fred. Keep rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin'.

Master of the double-life!

I wonder if Roger knows. I don't know if he'd like the idea of Pete going off and joining a rap rock band secretly.

Gav isn't ihavesoldout. ihavesoldout is Mike, and he made them. Gav is Diatonic Dissonance. They all live nearby though and take lessons from the Durst master.
