I have an old Sennheiser MD421* and the connector is too small to fit a standard XLR cable. I've looked around online and found that a 3 pin DIN connector looks like the right fit for the mic. Does anyone know if 3 pin DIN cables are still made?

5-pin DIN cables are the standard MIDI connection and 6-pin is usually referred to as a PS/2 connection - for mice n keyboards - but I'm not sure where I can get a 3-pin DIN anywhere around here. Especially one that goes to a male XLR or TRS plug (1/4").

By places to get them I'm talking about the larger chain stores ala Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc.

*much like this one, except gray

Can we see a picture of the connector on your mic? The various MD 421 models are professional mics, they should likely be able to connect to an XLR. Perhaps try a different brand of XLR connector on the cable (Switchcraft, Neutrik are typically going to fit)?
