View Full Version : Band Soundoffs / Discussion
Good idea? It would obviously go on.... the band pages. And allow you to discuss bands as a whole.
If we should add it, should it be informal like comments, or more formal like soundoffs? Or should we require 13 page essays that are peer-reviewed (jk)?

13 page essays ftw.
Honestly I think its not nessacary since people already discuss bands in threads.

Someone suggested this a few days ago, I think it is a fantastic idea. I think we should require them to be semi-formal like soundoffs, so people don't just write "this band sucks" or "I love them", but we don't need to get into dissertations either. I'd really like for this feature to be added.

I don't really like the idea as it'll make things too complicated. Not actually complicated, but there already is discussion on the reviews.

It doesn't interest me at all.

I like this idea a lot. I say go for it :)
However, instead of having discussion of the band on a whole, there should be a link to creating a new thread on the band in the appropriate genre forum that the band goes with. Or, a link to the band's thread if it already has one. That may prove to be a little harder (especially if the band already has a thread), but you may want to consider it. I just think it will encourage Sputnik users to take advantage of the forums (and possibly vice-versa).

Sure it may not be "necessary", but I think it would be a really cool thing to have. And I'm not just saying that because it was my idea. :D It would have to be formal though, because "this band blows" submissions would need to be filtered.

If its intellegently done, it can be pretty good. But I dont see it taking off, especially the not-so-intellegent soundoffs on albums. Even with massive modding and deleting, it still can be a problem.
