Since General Discussion was closed (thank God) I'm making a thread for this (got permission) here.

I created a Sputnikmusic myspace that will be used to attract new members for the site. It involves you guys helping by copy/pasting bulletins I put up among other things. Hep Kat has volunteered to help out some by doing something to get members that I don't entirely understand and then maybe work on the site's design. I'll monitor the rest of everything so if you have questions just msg, or comment. A couple of you already have and it's appreciated.

Honestly though. Don't deny anybody, even if they're in it for their own promotion. We need to accept anybody possible. Maybe even get on one of those friend chains. The whole point is getting the name out, which is best served by friending and accepting as many users as possible.

I already did it. I also improved the bulletin you were sending out. It now links to Sputnikmusic.com/has a button to let people add the myspace as a friend right from the bulletin.


I sent the myspace a message with the code from my myspace, so you should probably save it somewhere Ian. Anyway, I'm done for now, so you can sign back on.

Changes I just made:

1) Got rid of the "Kiwi Killer" links/logos.

2) Changed "Who I'd Like To Meet" section to "Sputnik Staff." Possible change of "About Me" to "About Us" coming.

3) Added various links, including linking to the staff's pages. If you have a myspace or anything else, and would like a link to it put in under your name on the Staff section, mention it. If enough people would like something like that to happen I/someone else will edit it.

4) Got rid of the "Interests" sections that weren't needed. The fact that Sputnikmusic doesn't want kids was depressing to look at :(

We're going to get it added to a bunch of whore trains which will (most likely) accumlate an enormous friends list for Sputnik. Sputnik'll be pimpin', ya know? Hopefully, if we get...for example, 10000 friends, 10% of 'em will join the site. In my experience on that site, many of the people take music seriously, and know quite a bit about it. I'm betting on that to carry over well to the site.

3. Haha in my experience every person on myspace who seems to have extensive musical tastes name drops half of the bands on their myspace page.

But at least now there is a valid use for it, even if I think it will still not function up to expectations.
