It's cool Megadeth are touring again, last I hear was that Dave quit after Download 2005.

Into Eternity, Arch Enemy, Opeth

The rest = Garbage.

Well, Sanctity were good live last time I saw them.

They should quit. They put on one of the most laughably terrible performances I've ever seen at last years Gigantour.

Megadeth was awful in Toronto.

The crowd was furious. Most people left midway through their set.

...on a bill that includes fellow heavy-hitters Lamb of God, plus Opeth, Arch Enemy, Overkill, Into Eternity, Sanctity and The Smashup all confirmed for these mostly outdoor shows. Other second stage artists will be announced soon.

Does this mean there will be one band added to make 9? I kept hearing there was supposed to be 9 bands.. Or is this old news?

Well, maybe there will be more bands, there's a video of Diamondhead were they say they are gonna support Gigantour 2.

Oh right. Are they any good? I've never heard them.

They are ok, cool guitar work, simple lyrics. They were part of the NWOBHM, they share some similarity with Judas Priest.

I saw Gigantour last year, and quite honestly I think it sucked. Megadeth were really sloppy live, and Dave had realllllllly bad tone.

I wish the website would work to see if they were coming near VA.

I hope they come to Kansas City or St Louis. I love LoG, Megadeth, Arch Enemy, and Opeth.

the website is gay this year, it was cooler last year :p

I've never heard Into Eternity except on the site. They're pretty good. Sound Nevermore-ish.

Way worse lineup than last year. Too trashy to pay to see.

This line-up is nothing compared to what it was last year. Not that I really care, I just want to see how watered down things get when bands start getting named for Australia's Gigantour (if it ever actually happens).

Australia gets owned when it comes to festivals.

first of all, i'd pay just to see opeth.
i went last year, i personally thought megadeth put on a great show (sacramento) plus mustaine is a god.

i'm excited

Duuuude. Into Eternity > Nevermore
Into Eternity doesn't come close. If they cut out their "harsh" vocals, then they'd be a step higher then they are. Those growls are horrible.

Loomis is a pretty underrated guitarist, his riffs are pretty good, and he is technically very efficient

He's amazing technically, but most of his solos really bore me.

Everyone i have ever talked to has had nothing but good things to say about Megadeth's live show, you must be an awful show critique.

Im going for Megadeth and Lamb of God. Ive already seen Opeth they are good live, and i dont really care for any of the other bands.

IE's new singer can sing, growl and grunt better than that dude in Nevermore with great ease. Great ease.

Splintered Visions > Any Nevermore song. IE owns them easy.

****, I will strangle Dave until his eyes pop out if he doesn't come to Western Canada or at least Seattle.

at the show last year, there was this one punkish band that was so out of place on the bill.

it was painful to watch.

this doesn't look like it has any bands like that.

And to Matt?, yes it does: The Smashup.

He's the only player with really technical solo's that I enjoy listening to.

Aw how could you say that. Like the solo in This Godless Endeavor. That's like one of the most fun solos to listen to imo.

pate
07-28-2006, 12:06 PM
Eh, his only solo I can think of right now that I enjoy is The River Dragon.

It just seems like pointless wank, and they all seem the same.

Fast part, Fast part, slower melody, sweep, sweep, sweep, sweep, fast ending.

Maybe I'm just too picky.

Overkill is awesome live, but I'm not sure I want to shovel out the money just to see them and Megadeth. I've already seen 'Deth twice before, and 'Kill once anyway.
