your machine head is 'buzzing'?

I have a Yamaha RBX too and I had the exact same problem. When playing the G string open, you get like a buzzing/rattling noise.
No fear my friend, help is on the way!
Its not your machine head. Basically, your string has lowered and is vibrating against a fret (usually the 1st hence why you would think its the machine-head).
What you need to do, is remove the string, and then you need to raise the part of the bridge where the G String sits on (it sorta looks like a 'tiny mallet sideways').You may have to unscrew it to raise it. Do that, then put the string back and your buzzing noise should be gone.
Hope that helps :thumb:

You don't have to take the string off. Just loosen it first.

Hey TS,
I don't doubt that your machine head is buzzing. The easiest way to check is to hold onto the machine head while you play the string. If there's no buzz when you do that, it's definitely the machine head.
Kickflip, it could be fret buzz--after all, that is the most common buzz. But I know that there's easily a dozen different types of mysterious "buzzes" that can be found on a guitar.
All I can suggest is to try what I said to see if it's the machine head, if it is, try tightening the screws on the back (that attach it to the headstock) and also try tightening the screw right on top of the knob, if it has one. Sometimes the actual knobs can get loose and buzz around.
If it's not the machine head, I'd search around the guitar more and make sure it's not fret buzz. It could always be truss rod buzz--I have a guitar like that, it's very annoying and hard to fix.
I think your nut might be cut too low, also. That could cause buzzing on an open string.
