Despite being logged in, I can't comment on lists. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

Whenever I leave the site and comeback I am always forced to login. This obviously isn't a big deal but it's just something I've noticed.

I have AOL dial-up, and I can't do anything when I'm using it. I'm on Internet Explorer right now (which only works when I'm connected to AOL) and everything works fine. So, basically I can't use Sputnik on AOL.

I logged in just fine, Firefox asked me if it wanted to remember the password etc. I went to post a comment on a news article, I press submit and it said 'login problem'. The URL was sputnikmusic.com/comments.php.

AOL is my ISP.

EDIT: Okay, it does this for everything. I just went to rate an album and it came up with the same thing.

No. I can log in through IE just fine, but that might be because java/cookies are enabled and that puts me in a considerably more vulnerable position! What can I do, I just want to tell people their lists suck :(

Hi, fellow mx-ers. It's been a while since I've posted, and I'm having a problem or two with Sputnik. I can log into the forums fine and all, but when I enter my username/passcode on Sputnik, I am told that it's an invalid entry. Did something happen to the account, or is this widespread? Or do the Sputnik accounts need activation or something? Anyhow, it's more of a minor annoyance since I'm not on much at the time, but when school starts back and I'm on more, it may be more of a problem. Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

Verizon. I can't get in with Firefox on safe mode (which is what I'm using to type this; the forums are fine in FF), but when I try it in IE with everything default, it works fine.

Just so I get this straight:

You guys login at sputnikmusic.com/login.php, and it redirects you to sputnikmusic.com/index.php, and you can't see the my profile, etc, options?

Are cookies disabled in your browser?

Mine still isn't working. I enter the information, but when I click the login button, the screen stays the same and an error pops up in the upper left corner (very hard to see) stating that I entered an incorrect username/password. The forums login is working fine, so I am not entering the incorrect password or anything. And I do have cookies enabled.

So, does index.php still see you as logged in? Or is there no evidence that you are logged in at all?

Wish

Yeah, I am logged in when I try and index.php says I am. It has the my profile and logout options on the bar. I'll clear all the cookies for sputnikmusic.com and try again.

Okay, I tried to post comments using Opera and it worked first time. Still a bit of an inconvenience though.

Aye its the aol browser, incompatible with the decision to get rid of the remember me box. (A dumb decision imo, even if it doesn't prevent hacking they should patch it to be compatible with aol)

Jeremy:

Now my account is logging in properly, but I cannot view the my profile page. When I click on the my profile tab and all, a message in the center of the screen says, "This user has not yet contributed to this section of the site." However, if I click on the rate my music tab, all of my info (save my avatar) is there, including the box on the side with my review stats (22 albums; 97% approval et cetera). I was just wondering what is going on with my profile if anything. Is this related to my previous problem of not being able to sign in? Anyhow, I'm sorry about all this. But I appreciate it if you can help me out.

Post Scriptum: I only posted this in this thread because I thought it may be related to the previous problem. If I should put this into the standard Problems thread, I can move it there if you want.

I am having problems. Four tries, no go. The forums are fine. I'll try again later and post again if it's the same. I also haven't skimmed the thread yet, so....

....No proxy, no AOL. ATT/Yahoo DSL, if that helps....

EDIT: I can login but it resets when I click on/try to post something, I should say. I'll try another browser and edit this post.

EDIT 2: Changed my browser and it's working. But I do have login problems sometimes no matter what browser I use. And staying logged in. Although it seems to of always been that way for me....

I don't know if it's a serious problem, and to be honest it doesn't bother me, but I figured I'd post it anyway.

I have to login everytime I visit Sputnik, it was annoying for a while, but I'm use to it now so don't really care.

I just want to cry about writing a lengthy post and then having to resign in and losing the post (for the nth time.)

I know, its my own fault, and nothing can be done and Im not really asking for anything to be done, im just sad...

I know, I should write it in notepad first, but habits are hard to break. What I usually do is manually copy the text, and in case I have to sign in again, i just cntl-v and im good, but its late at night and I forgot....

would it be possible to change the settings so that when you are forced to relog in that it goes ahead and posts instead of erasing everything?
