So after many delays I finally decided to check these guys out. Damn, all I have heard so far is the stuff of their newest release but it is really good. The thing is though people have told me that they used to be A LOT better, and I sort of wonder because on like eBay and **** they get tagged on with like Converge and Coalesce which doesn't seem like too appropriate of a match. Tell me some stuff by Cave In to check out and discuss.

I really don't enjoy their old "alternative metal" crap. I like their pop rock/alternative phase, which made them sound like a more streamlined, heavier Radiohead.

i have jupiter, its not a bad listen. not as mind blowing as i was lead to believe. a lot of people hate them for 'going ghey for the major dollar'.

Album suggestion?

I have heard Jupiter and I have Antenna, which is catchy and poppier than Jupiter. It's better written but not as inventive. I think their best is the surprise Tides of Tomorrow. The title track on that is sick. Nice solo.

They didn't used to be "a LOT better". They've been pretty consistent its just that their sound has changed dramatically. A lot of their fans are biased towards the heavier stuff at the beginning of their career.

Their best metalcore album is Until Your Heart Stops.

Their best spacey rock album is Jupiter.

The new album combines both.

That's pretty much all you need to know.

I have Tides of Tomorow and I ****ing hate it. I've never been able to enjoy this band. I thought they were awful live too.

I have Tides Of Tomorrow. It touches on some of that spacey, mewithoutYou/Glassjaw jam **** I was looking for with them with "Dark Driving" but most of it is straight up radio rock. It's pretty bad.

Wow, you dudes are way out of touch and misinformed on this band.

If you're going to be lazy, just download the song "Juggernaught" or the "The End of Our Rope is a Noose" and punch holes in your walls.

I've heard Until Your Heart Stops. It's pretty good but I think I prefer their later more spacey ****. Same deal with Codeseven. Their early heavy **** is good but their later space rock stuff is better. This Day Forward on the other hand, totally was better at making metalcore.

I just downloaded four of their albums ("Until Your Heart Stops", "In Moons of Jupiter", "In Tides of Tomorrow" and "Antenna"). I hope they're good.

I LOVE TDF but they're not better than Cave In was at that.

You're the same dude that likes GUTG better than AN.

I've only heard Jupiter and liked it. I know this may seem cliche now with like every band, but the new stuff is crap.

No way, the new album is probably tied with UYHS with my favorite.

How sick is that melodic part on "Sod Within the Hill" after all of the more brutal stuff? Love it. Reminds me a lot of the stuff Misery Signals does.

Also, the vocals after the really cool solo guitar riff suond a lot like those on The Satellite Years.

The new album is good, I like it a lot. But if you like Cave In I would say you must get Until Your Heart Stops.
