An auction I'm bidding on on Ebay, for a second hand pair of HHX Evo hi-hats. The guy selling has a 100% feedback score, and claims that the hats are in perfect condition. However, I'm not entirely convinced.

that's the auction, what do you guys think? In the second picture, top left, I can't think of anything else that that small line could be, other than a crack.

To me, that looks like a reflection.
EDIT: He also has 1 feedback, so make sure to email and ask specifically. If it is a crack and he dosen't tell you, you can probably force a refund.

His Total feedback is 1....... and he has no feedback for an item he sold, only for an item he bought

Yeah, No selling feedback dosent look very good, but everyone has to start somewhere.
I would ask what the line is, and if its not what he says when you recieve the item, he has given false details about the item.

Heh yeah, but I'm already stretching the uni savings as it is! I did email him, and he said 'it is in perfect condition with a 12 month warranty'. So not much use, really. I'm gonna email him again and ask more specifically. I'm a noob to ebay, so I really don't want to end up screwing this up.

Just because he start the bid low doesn't mean there's something wrong with it. He's being a smart seller. It grabbed your attention, didn't it? So it worked. You can sell a cruise boat and start the auction at one cent, it will still be sold for what it's worth no matter what.

i'd email him again.
and if you get it and it IS cracked, you can report him to ebay and get your money back if you want.

That has nothing to do with the threadstarter's question
Just ask him for a couple more pictures. If after seeing more pictures you decide to buy it and it does actually have a crack, you could probably get your money back.

Yep needs more pictures! This guy is either try to trick someone and extremely rich because he is selling a 3 piece DW kit that he says is worth like £3500 or something for 600+ (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DRUM-WORKSHOP-EXOTIC-DRUM-KIT_W0QQitemZ280007132042QQihZ018QQcategoryZ38097Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

There's a reserve price and he has 30 DW kits in stock. It helps if you read the auction

Looks like a crack to me. I'd get a better picture of it first.
