Just recorded some songs.

Hey, I've just finished mixing my band's E.P. which we've put online. I'd just like to know what people's opinions of it are. I recorded the whole thing so it's a bit sketchy in places, but I'm happy with the sound. I played it through some high end monitors at a mastering suite today and it all sounded way bass heavy so I'm guessing that could be a complaint. It hasn't been a problem on the dozen or so regular speakers I've tested it on, and not through my monitors, so I'm hoping it was a case of wrong room through the wrong gear. Which it probably isn't, so I can hope.

Yeah it is a bit bass heavy, but at the very low end of the spectrum. In that sense its very low freqeunices so it doesnt come in pulses but instead just resonates in around 31 Hz or so...might have just been an EQ problem when mastering. Also in the Trace of Circus track, your bass drum sound is almost purely attack. Theres a punch to the sound but no boom if you get me. Other than that though its excellent i have to say. Isn't the satisfaction great from finishing your own CD.

P.S - i only listened to the Trace of Circus track though...just not in the mood for that type of music right now...haha...feel like Dream Theater right now :)

That's odd about the bassdrum, because on that track I really had to control the bass drum's low end. I think I seriously need to treat this room, it's not communicating the bass across at all. But thanks.
