Hey guys. I've been reading through some of the posts here, and everyone seems really helpful. I decided to sign up because i'm an inspiring drummer, and I would like to network/communicate with other drummers. There's not many drummers (or bands, for that matter) around my area. Here's a little about me..

I'm nineteen years old. I played percussion in school, but only from fifth grade to early seventh. I continued casual play on a set I got, until basically every head was broken. Fast forward four or five years. This past february, I went out and bought a Roland TD3SV Electronic drum kit. I went with electronic because I have neighbors on both side, and it's a relatively quiet neighborhood. I also thought it would be better for practice. Anyways, since this past February, i've gotten a lot better with my timing. I've been practicing with a lot of pop-punk/alternative songs (Fall Out Boy, Blink, Green Day, etc), and i've even started a band with my cousin and a mutual friend of ours.

Drumming has become quite the 'obsession' in my life, lately. I've tabbed some songs, nothing too insane. I've made some beats of my own. Tried a lot of different drumming methods. I just really want to make drumming a part of my everyday life. If you guys have any tips for bettering or improving myself as a drummer, i'd really appreciate it. But that's not the point of this thread. I just wanted to introduce myself to the community and say hello. Sorry if this is the wrong thread for that.

Hey welcome the forums. This is a really good place to further your drumming experience, the only problem I have with this place is the flaming. Some people might try to put you down just because you dont do things their way but dont listen to them. However you should stay open to advice. Anyways I hope you have fun and contribute to these forums:thumb:

Welcome to the forums.

Pick up the book "Stick Control" and work through it with a teacher or by yourself. Get a metronome too.

Listen to some of the band mentioned around here. and you'll be really diverse.

A lot of people on here flame because they want to fit in. Don't be like this, flame for good reason.

Also, on the topic of a new drumset, i would research many of the brands out there before deciding on one...There are many kits that could suit your needs for a lot cheaper than custom. Although C&C make great kits.
