Hey guys. I've been reading through some of the posts here, and everyone seems really helpful. I decided to sign up because i'm an inspiring drummer, and I would like to network/communicate with other drummers. There's not many drummers (or bands, for that matter) around my area. Here's a little about me..
I'm nineteen years old. I played percussion in school, but only from fifth grade to early seventh. I continued casual play on a set I got, until basically every head was broken. Fast forward four or five years. This past february, I went out and bought a Roland TD3SV Electronic drum kit. I went with electronic because I have neighbors on both side, and it's a relatively quiet neighborhood. I also thought it would be better for practice. Anyways, since this past February, i've gotten a lot better with my timing. I've been practicing with a lot of pop-punk/alternative songs (Fall Out Boy, Blink, Green Day, etc), and i've even started a band with my cousin and a mutual friend of ours.
Drumming has become quite the 'obsession' in my life, lately. I've tabbed some songs, nothing too insane. I've made some beats of my own. Tried a lot of different drumming methods. I just really want to make drumming a part of my everyday life. If you guys have any tips for bettering or improving myself as a drummer, i'd really appreciate it. But that's not the point of this thread. I just wanted to introduce myself to the community and say hello. Sorry if this is the wrong thread for that.
