id you put some sort of bass pup in a 6er, what would it sound like or would it even work?

im sorry, like a (hate to say this) regular six string guitar, not a bass.
and sorry if my avatar help confuse at all, les is just one of my favorite bassists even though im a guitar player

I don't know how that would sound. I've been thinking about throwing a P pup into a guitar just to. lol.

it won't sound terrible or anything. it should sound more bluesy. i've seen it done before- only with a bi-pole j pup slanted at an angle on a guitar
edit: it was a 4 string J pup on a 6 string guitar.

yeah, local h does that instead of getting a bassist...runs it through a different cable and everything, but im pretty sure he uses part of a p pickup on E and A only

It should work, as guitar and bass pickups work on the same principles, though bass pickups are wound to for basses range of notes but should still sound nice. I would look at pickups with coils instead of pole pieces as they should give you a more even response across all the strings.
