I want to route a jazz pickup in my SX Precision style bass. Anyone who has experiance doing this, can you please provide me with a tutorial or something similar. I want it to be cosmetically good too, and how would i be able to switch between pick-ups?

Also if anyones selling a set of Jpickups i'd love to buy it.

you need a router (pictured right after making the contours) and have to route the pickup cavities just big enough for the pickup and nothing more. look at jazz basses for example.

Also, which would be better, a P/J or a P/MM style pickup?

P/MM, it's meaty :naughty:

+1 P/MM, especially if you can put the MM in the "sweetspot"

+1 to the MM being meatier.
TS, if you want a thick + deep sound (mc cartney for example), use an MM. for things like wooten of hamm use a J.

I'm gonna go with the MM, i picked up bass for the funk and the deep, meaty tone.
Where exactly is the sweetspot? (how far from the bridge?) Also, in the MM pickup are there 2 pickups or just one? How would i be able to switch between P/MM
