First off, theres that slap comp starting up and i'd really like to get in it/ be able to actually get some music on the web. I was wandering what would be the easiest/cheapest way to go on this

I also wanted to get some good walking basslines for a five string suggestions and what not is what i'm goin for :)

Soundclick is probably the easiest and cheapest (its free). Try it out here (http://www.soundclick.com)

Ahh, ok, didnt realise. 1/4' to 1/8' adapter and Audacity (or any other free program) should do you fine. Just plug your bass into the line in on the computer with the adapter

Audacity is a free recording program, just google it and it should come up with a free download for it somewhere. Once your bass is plugged into the line in, select "line in" for the recording bit on Audacity, hit record, and start playing :thumb:
