Although JSC already said what I was going to say when I replied to this, they really aren't "original", besides having original vocals, which I dislike.

It wouldn't be hard at all to make a band sound like Rage. Use the E blues scale, pick some random notes, and voula, you've got a Rage riff.

edit: five string is my limit. sixers are pushing it for me. i love the extra range of a sixer, but all six string basses feel clumsy to me. Plus i just started playing guitar and that's all the high end i'll need. I prefer the low b to support a band than a high c, but i can deffinately see the aplications for solo stuff.

I also found out today that my rock band will be versing our school's jazz band together with a choir in our estedfod, the funny thing is that I'm in the jazz band.

The other thing I found out today is that I'm playing in a string quartet in the estedfod doing Apocalypticas cover of Fade To Black, whats irionic is that thats what my band is also playing.

I would say save up a bit more. You have a decent setup at the moment from the sounds of it. But if you really want to replace your cab, then rather replace it with something that is goingto be equal in output rather than using the money that you currently have towards something smaller.

Best bet would be to pick something you really want and work towards that. I also find that when I have some spare cash and noting I really want it also burn a hole in my pocket, and I wind up spending it on something that Ireally do not want or need.


An idea might be to put together a mini rig, but with first rate components. e.g. Accugroove, Eden, etc. that sort of thing.
