I started a refinish project on a Carlo Rabolie bass (sam ash's store brand). I got for free so fuk off! what i need to know is what to finsh the neck with I defretted the bitch! I was thinking clear coat on the back and head but what should I put on the finger board? My dad suggested tung oil or lindsead oil what do you think?

...Epoxy resin, it'll make the fingerboard last for years
EDIT: But it isn't fretless, just leave it

No it is frettless but, i want to keep the rosewood look! Epoxy is a god idea but, it's a little hard to work with. ( It is no workalbe after 10 min. I learnd that from fixing my surfboard!)
Any more ideas?

polyurethane works pretty well. i used it on mine. the cheaper stuff may not be as hard as epoxy, but it sure has done a good job on my fretless.
